Spoon cake or dump cake? I prefer to call it spoon cake! This one is perfect for the season.

It doesn’t get easier or more delicious than this pumpkin dump cake recipe. You just need five ingredients and a few short minutes to throw it together for your next fall gathering.

Spoon Cake
3 eggs
1 (18.25 oz) box yellow cake mix
1 (16 oz) box confectioner’s sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup butter
1 (8 oz) package cream cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine cake mix, egg, ½ cup butter and mix well with electric mixer. Pat the mixture into the bottom of the lightly greased 9 x 13 baking pan. In a large bowl beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add the eggs, vanilla and ½ cup butter and beat together. Add powdered sugar and mix well. Spread this second mixture over the cake batter. Bake for 40-50 minutes. Make sure not to over bake as center should be gooey.
Note: For other flavors, use different cake mix flavors (lemon, orange, chocolate, etc.) Also can just add 2 cups milk chocolate chips over top.
