🍽️Looking for some dinner inspo? Well look no further than our meat department here at the Swarthmore CO-OP!

🐔Doesn't this Crispy-Roasted Chèvre-Stuffed Chicken cooked up by our very own meat & seafood manager, Vlad, look delicious?🐐

🐔On the chicken side of the aisle, our boneless thighs are the ideal size for skewering but if you’re set on cubes, we would recommend using our bone in breasts as they have the ideal thickness. Roasting skin-on chicken over a fire locks in its moisture underneath a crispy layer, be sure to marinate overnight for best results!

🍄A wonderful recipe using bone-in breasts involves creating a pocket inside using a sharp knife and stuffing it with a mixture of garlic chèvre, spinach, and mushroom. Using a grape tomato every so often to push the stuffing down works well and retaining the bone ensures a juicier morsel when done. Be sure to top with fresh herbs like basil or parsley after slicing nice cross sections and a drizzle of balsamic won’t hurt either!

🗣️Attention CO-OP Shoppers!

🍅July is here and so is that summer heat! Cool down at the CO-OP with our newest Sandwich of the Month: The Caprese con Pollo Panino! A twist on our classic Caprese sandwich with some of that signature CO-OP Grilled Chicken. CO-OP Grilled Chicken, Fresh Slices Tomato, Basil Pesto, Mozarella all pressed on a Ciabatta roll!🍅

🗓️Members get it for $10.95 (regular $12.95) this July.

We cleared out the store of damaged goods, cleaned, and have been re-inspected to open this morning at 9AM!

Unfortunately, we have very limited stock on most if not all of perishable foods, so please be patient as we slowly restock throughout this week.

Shout out to the staff for working tirelessly in the store and a few Co-Op board members for loaning us their fridges these past few days!

Thanks again to our members and shoppers for being patient and understanding during this unexpected event.

Power is back on! However, we will still be CLOSED today as our staff works on accounting damaged product as well as restocking our fridges with recovered goods.

Due to a downed electrical pole, we have no power in the store. While Peco works on restoring the power, we will be closed until further notice as we work on recovering and restocking any refrigerated inventory.

In observance of Juneteenth, the Swarthmore Co-Op will be operating with adjusted hours, 9AM-5PM, on Friday, June 19th.

Juneteenth commemorates the day, June 19th in 1865 when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, learned of their freedom, more than two years after the issuance of the Emancipation Proclamation. It is a day to honor Black history, celebrate freedom, and reflect on the ongoing pursuit of equity and justice.

We encourage our community to take time to learn, reflect, and participate in local Juneteenth celebrations and events.
