Today is the last day of our 18th Anniversary bonanza! The BBQ Tempeh Sandwich is one of the specials we pulled out of our long list of past favorites to bring back to life. This classic is made with bbq marinated tempeh, mozzarella, caramelized onions, tomatoes and baby spinach on garlic butter toasted marble rye.
Grab one while you can - who knows if we'll ever bring this sandwich back again??

Today we start our weekend celebration of 18 years of Strong Hearts! Bring your appetite because we're cooking up GARBAGE PLATES! Our take on the Rochester staple comes with macaroni salad, sweet potato salad, french fries, house made vegan meat sauce, a beyond cheeseburger, yellow mustard, diced onions and a piece of butter-toasted stretch bread.
All of the specials we're offering this weekend are in addition to most of our full menu (we had to take 2-3 things off the menu for the weekend to make a little room).
And don't miss your chance to snag one of our awesome 18th Anniversary limited run shirts.

Every year at this time we can't help but reflect on the wild ride we've had. We're so grateful to everyone who has been a part of it - all the folks who've worked with us, given us advice, jumped in to help when times were tough or came out over and over to patronize our little vegan restaurant. Our goal was always to turn more people on to how accessible and delicious vegan food can be - the fact that we'd eventually serve literally millions of vegan meals over the years didn't seem like even an outside possibility back in 2008. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. ❤

Here's another special we'll be serving up this weekend: Throwback Vegan Chicken Sandwich
The star of the show here is the tofu "chicken" that is coated in our super flavorful batter and fried to golden perfection. It comes on stretch bread with ranch, lettuce and tomato.
You may remember this as being one of the central pieces of our menu at Strong Hearts on the Hill from 2013 to 2021. Before that, it was the best vegan sandwich in town for many years when it was on the menu at Syrajuice (shoutout to Leah for always having amazing vegan options over the years there).

Another special we'll be offering up this weekend as we celebrate 18 years of delicious vegan food.
It's the BIG sMACk!! Two 4 oz grilled beyond burger patties with melted violife cheese, lettuce, pickles, onion and secret sauce on a sesame seed bun.
A wise man once said "Smack me once, shame on you, smack me twice, a smacked man keeps coming back for more" or something like that. Maybe I got that wrong. Sorry.

This weekend we're celebrating 18 years of Strong Hearts!!
We'll be dropping details on specials all week. First up is the Soba Noodle Salad - one of our cult favorites that debuted in the early years. It's got spring mix topped with chilled soba noodles, red cabbage, sliced mushrooms, sesame garlic tofu, tuxedo sesame seeds and sesame ginger dressing on the side.

Happy Mother's Day!! And a huge congrats to everyone celebrating commencement in the Dome today!
We've got a handful of specials lined up for all the festivities today, starting with the triumphant return of the Eggs Benetricked. Our classic take on the Eggs Benedict features two fried egg-spiced tofu patties, ham seitan and our house-made hollandaise on butter toasted English muffins.
Here's what else we have cooking for today:
French Toast Bake with fresh strawberries
Cinnamon Rolls made by our fabulous bakery team in Buffalo
Italian Deli Subs
And we still have a few Mother's Day Cookie Boxes and Mom Heart Cookies available.

Today is playing a show in Liverpool celebrating 30 years of their album Gomorrah's Season Ends. If you don't know already, these guys had a profound influence on us. The lyrics to songs like New Ethic and Morality Dictates laid out the basis for a lifetime commitment to veganism. Without that foundation, there would not be Strong Hearts. So big shoutout to these guys for spreading the message for decades on end, for putting Syracuse on the map when it comes to heavy music, and for always being supportive of what we're doing.

We have a few specials lined up to celebrate Earth Crisis today:
- the Earth Crisis milkshake (Chocolate Peanut Butter), of course
- The Wrap of Sanity - shawarma spiced chickpeas, fries, garlic sauce, veggies all in a wheat wrap
- Firestorm Fries - cajun seasoned fries with sriracha mayo, cherry peppers and banana peppers
- Italian Deli Sub - a grab n go sub loaded with house-made ham seitan, turkey seitan, pepperoni, cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo, mustard, italian dressing and cherry peppers

The Cajun Seitan Sandwich is back for one weekend only! This was one of our favorites when we put it on the menu back in 2012. It comes stacked high with Cajun spiced house-made seitan, melty violife cheddar, chipotle aioli, lettuce, tomato and cucumbers on butter toasted seeded rye bread.

Don’t let this pass you by, because once the supplies hit zero, it’s goin back into the vault.

If you can't tell by now, we’re feeling nostalgic. This sandwich was at the heart of our menu for a good stretch, and it’s got us thinking about what else we should resurrect.
