Quali parole per chi ci ha cambiato la vita, se non quelle di una profonda gratitudine per ciò che 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐨 𝐏𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐢 continua a rappresentare per noi di 𝐒𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚, nell’essere una guida culturale, umana e politica. La sua capacità di leggere il cibo non come merce ma come 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐢 𝐠𝐢𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐚, 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚̀ 𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐚 𝐢 𝐩𝐨𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢 ha cambiato il modo di guardare al mondo di intere generazioni.

Tra i tanti insegnamenti, indimenticabile resta la visione emersa durante il Congresso di Slow Food International a Chengdu: la 𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐳𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐝𝐢 𝐮𝐧𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐞 𝐠𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐝𝐢 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚̀, 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐢, 𝐩𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢, 𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐢, 𝐜𝐮𝐨𝐜𝐡𝐢, 𝐦𝐢𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢 𝐞 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐢 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐨 𝐚 𝐮𝐧’𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐚 𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐳𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐞𝐦𝐞: 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐚 𝐛𝐢𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐚̀ 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐥’𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚̀. In quella visione abbiamo riconosciuto, ancora una volta, la forza di Terra Madre come progetto politico e culturale capace di tenere insieme ambiente, diritti, pace e giustizia sociale.

Dal 2007, come Slow Food Roma, abbiamo scelto di portare avanti concretamente quella visione di Terra Madre nei quartieri, nei mercati, nelle scuole e nelle periferie della città. È da questa ispirazione che è nato anche il nostro 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐨 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐥𝐞: un luogo in cui il cibo buono, pulito e giusto diventa strumento di inclusione, mutualismo e dignità. Perché 𝐧𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐮𝐨̀ 𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐳𝐚 𝐠𝐢𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐚 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐞, 𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐮𝐨̀ 𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐚 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚 𝐛𝐢𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐚̀ 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐳𝐚 𝐢𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐠𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐩𝐢𝐮̀ 𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐥𝐢.

Nel pensiero di Carlin abbiamo sempre trovato un richiamo forte a non lasciare indietro nessuno: i più poveri, i migranti, chi vive ai margini delle grandi città, chi custodisce saperi antichi ma non ha voce. Difendere la biodiversità agricola e culturale significa anche difendere le comunità umane che la rendono viva ogni giorno.

È dentro questa eredità che si inserisce anche la nostra visione di 𝐌𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚: uno spazio aperto e plurale dove culture, cucine, lingue e identità diverse possano incontrarsi e riconoscersi reciprocamente. Un progetto che vede nella diversità non una minaccia ma una ricchezza collettiva, e che prova a costruire nuove forme di comunità attraverso il cibo, la cultura e la condivisione.

Al nostro Carlin, il nostro fondatore, dobbiamo 𝐥𝐚 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐳𝐚 𝐝𝐢 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐞 𝐮𝐧 𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐫𝐨 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨 𝐝𝐢 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐚̀ 𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐞: 𝐩𝐢𝐮̀ 𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐨, 𝐩𝐢𝐮̀ 𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨, 𝐩𝐢𝐮̀ 𝐠𝐢𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨. E soprattutto capace di mettere al centro la terra e le persone.
