Hi Cat Lovers! 🐾 We are beginning the process again, full speed ahead, on getting Kiss The Paw Cat Cafe open! Some exciting news to share, we are opening an online merch store soon & we plan to have some pop-up shops at the local events & flea markets. All proceeds will go directly to opening the doors at KTP!

Please let us know in the comments or message us with what kind of merchandise you would most be interested in purchasing? T-shirts, ball caps, stickers, mugs, cat toys, car bow ties, etc!

UPDATE:
We wanted to give an update on the progression of Kiss The Paw. As many of you know or can imagine, opening a brick & mortar business takes a lot of money, energy & TIME. Unfortunately, time is something I don’t have much of right now. My grandfather, who loved Spike & loves our newest boys, is currently on hospice & I am spending most of my free time by his bedside. This legend of a man has been kicked off hospice 3x already, so it’s been a wild ride. He so badly wishes he could see Kiss The Paw come to life, he told me himself. 😻

So, for the time being, Kiss The Paw Cat Cafe is currently on hold from major progress, although I continue to look for the perfect space to make KTP a reality. When the time is right, we will begin full-speed ahead on opening Kiss The Paw.

We are so excited to finally be able to share our official logo! And we are in love! 😻

Our logo really embodies the vibe & concept envisioned for Kiss The Paw Cat Cafe. We will have an interior decor style that combines Florida Art Deco, feline adorableness and of course, Tampa Bay culture! We plan to create a space that is enjoyable for a cup of coffee during the day, a glass of wine or beer in the afternoon or evening (who are we kidding, there are no rules!) and a special time spent with our adoptable cats. We know the kitties are going to feel so good knowing they are in such a cool place!

The name for our cafe, Kiss The Paw Cat Cafe, is in honor of our boy, Spike. We always “kissed the paw,” as we left the house or randomly throughout the day when he demanded. Cats!! Am I right?!

My husband and I thought this would be a great way to pay homage to Spikey and also a great merch idea!

The logo you see now is one I put together temporarily, to fill the space until our true vision is created. One that depicts the love, personality and true sass that Spike & so many kitties bring to our lives every day! We hope to have our permanent logo a reality very soon!

We are so excited to be on this journey & counting down the months until we can open.

As the owner, I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself, share a little on the goal for Kiss The Paw Cat Cafe and what it looks like for you, the community!

So without further ado, hi!
My name is Rachel and I am the owner of the soon-to-be Kiss The Paw Cat Cafe. I am a true lover of all felines and a Tampanian for the past decade. I am in my early 30s & share life with my husband and our two 8 month old kittens currently, Max & Quinn. My love for cats began in childhood, but really took hold with our previous boy, Spike. You may have seen and/or met Spike in his stroller downtown, walking the Riverwalk, exploring the airport or taking in the sights at the beach. Sadly, we lost him unexpectedly in the beginning of 2021.

I realized the dream for Kiss The Paw Cat Cafe when I truly saw how many cats are in shelters & foster homes, and realized that I could be a part of finding more cats homes, all while serving my community & creating a space for cat lovers.

The goal for Kiss The Paw Cat Cafe is to help as many cats find forever homes as possible while providing a therapeutic & memorable experience for cat lovers like yourself.

I plan to make Kiss The Paw Cat Cafe a place where you can get a great cup of local coffee or tea, (hopefully also a glass of beer or wine at some point, we all know Tampanians love their local craft beer) and a place where cats are respected & given a better chance to be socialized and adopted into their forever home! Kiss The Paw Cat Cafe will not only provide a space for you to socialize with the kitties, whether that be enjoying a drink with friends, reading a book & cuddling, playing video games with the cats around, bringing your laptop to work, etc., we will also host trivia nights, movie nights and other activities that the local community shows an interest in.

We plan to open by the end of 2022 and will keep you all eagerly awaiting feline lovers updated here on the progress!
