Community Food Pantry in Tool

I recently had the opportunity to meet with Ms. Shelby Teague who is our new Principal at Tool Elementary School here in Tool, TX.

The Community Food Pantry in Tool is now supporting 60 students with weekend food due to the fact that they are suffering from food insecurity. We have 220 students at Tool Elementary.

We provide breakfast, lunch and dinner for Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday. Our volunteers are happy to help.

But, in speaking with Miss Teague, I asked what else the school might need. I was surprised but not really.

She said they have a clothes closet. She gave me a tour and there are shirts, sweaters, pants, etc. for the children to take and use as needed.

If you have gently used boys and girl clothing, feel free to donate it to the school or deliver it to the Pantry and we will make sure the school receives the donation.

More importantly, this is what they need:

Socks
Underwear
T-Shirts
Backpacks

Backpacks - odd but true. The backpacks become kind of ratty and need to be replaced for various reasons generally right after Christmas.

So, here is my suggestion to consider as you wish.

Bring Pre-K, 1st - 4th grade socks, underwear, T-Shirts and Backpacks to the Community Food Pantry in Tool. We are open Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 8:30 and Noon. Or drop at the Tool Elementary School during school hours.

Feel free to place an order for those items you wish to order by using our Amazon wish list. The products will be delivered to the Pantry and we will make sure they get to the school in a timely manner.

The Community Food Pantry in Tool is once again partnering with Carolina and Greg Figueroa in order to sponsor 41 families for our 2025 Angel Tree.

We have 28 out of 41 families left to adopt. The list of families is now closed

Let us know if you wish to adopta 1, 2, 3, or 4 child family.

We will provide the wish list and the instructions for dropping the gifts at the Pantry.

Update. Men’s shoes of all sorts accepted!!!

Hi all. We are shifting gears!!

We’ve been collecting tennis shoes. But now we are ALSO including MEN’s shoes of all sorts.

We are partnering with One Man’s Treasure again this year.

We are in need of gently used boots, shoes, etc. to help 225 recently released gentlemen who have served their sentences and are looking for help.

Just drop the men’s shoes in a bag at the Community Food Pantry in Tool any time. 100 S. Old Indian Trail, Tool,TX

We’ll get them to our friends at One Man’s Treasure right away!

OK, I am now continuing my ability to send belated birthday cards to everybody that is part of our lives.

Since I never remember the actual dates.

But happy birthday to our fabulous Ukranian friend Helen oh and our Community Food Pantry super volunteer along with Kim Cramm and others and Wendy, etc.. Happy belated birthday to both of you.

Good morning everyone.

We are still accepting birthday cards for Miss Fran who will turn 95 years old on November 19.

Please feel free to mail those cards to the Community Food Pantry. We will certainly make sure that she receives them.

And I’m sure she will be very delighted to read every single one of them. Just mail it to the Pantry or drop it off at the Pantry.

We’re all over here at the Walmart in Gun Barrel city this morning.

We will be meeting the elementary school buses in just a short amount of time and we will take these children who are in need of clothing, etc. on a shopping spree with the Rotary Club today.

The Cedar Creek Rotary Club (The best Rotary Club in the world) is hosting 30 or 40 children per school this morning and our volunteers are here to help with that shopping excursion.

Feel free to join us again tomorrow at 8 o’clock in the morning we’ll have another two bus loads of children. The kiwanis club will host

And then again on Tuesday the 28th another couple bus loads of kids Rotary Club at Cedar Creek Lake will be back.

Feel free to stop by and volunteer to help shop with these children.

It’s quite a heartwarming experience so happy to be helping the community!!!
