Go see our friends and get a free cheeseburger. Our hearts are a bit sad but we truly understand running a food truck is not easy and lots of sacrifices are made, family should always come first❤️
Hey Burger Bus friends, it’s Branden again! 🍔😁
This one is a little harder to write than most of our posts.
For the past 6 years, you all have given me the opportunity to drive around Topeka and the surrounding communities, flipping burgers, smoking pork, rolling hot dogs, grilling cheeses, meeting thousands of people… and somehow, I got to call all of that my job. ❤️
And what a job it has been.
I’ve gotten to work alongside my friends and family, and over the years, I think we’ve built one heck of a Burger Bus crew. 🤩🥰 There have been long days, late nights, crazy lines, hot summers, cold events, breakdowns, last-minute changes, and plenty of times we wondered if we could make it all happen— but there have been a whole lot more laughs, smiles, memories, and good times.
The Burger Bus has also given me the chance to set up alongside so many other amazing food trucks and small businesses. I’ve eaten a ridiculous amount of their food 😂, learned from them, and made friendships with people I otherwise probably would have only known from the outside of an ordering window.
But most importantly, you guys showed up for us.
You showed up at lunch stops. You came out for dinner. You stood in line at festivals and events. You booked us for your workplaces, schools, neighborhoods, weddings, fundraisers, and celebrations. You recommended us to your friends, shared our posts, voted for us, came back week after week, and helped turn a crazy idea involving burgers and a school bus into something our family could be incredibly proud of.
For that, I don’t think we could ever say THANK YOU enough. ❤️🍔🚌
This year brought another pretty big change to our family with the addition of our beautiful baby Oaklan, and as Raylan gets older, he’s becoming more involved in sports and activities. I’ve started realizing just how much of the “good stuff” I’m missing — and how much of it I won’t get another chance at as our kids grow up.
Unfortunately, the Burger Bus life happens mostly on nights and weekends… exactly when a lot of that good stuff happens.
So, after a lot of thinking and talking as a family, we’ve decided that the Burger Bus will be taking 2027 off. ❤️
Does that mean this is goodbye forever?
We honestly don’t know.
Maybe we figure out a way to make it work, and the Burger Bus comes rolling back in 2028. I certainly hope there’s another chapter to this story. But right now, being there for our kids and our family is where we need to be.
And we couldn’t just disappear for a year without getting the chance to say THANK YOU one more time.
So we’re throwing one last Burger Bus get-together, and the food is on us! 🍔❤️ Bring a lawn chair and hang out if you’d like, or just grab dinner and head home!
📅 Tuesday, October 27th
⏰ 5:00–7:00 PM — or until we run out
📍 Watson Automotive - 2225 NW Clay St., Topeka, KS
We’ll be serving FREE single cheeseburgers and pulled pork sandwiches as our way of saying thank you to the community that has supported our family and the Burger Bus for the last six years.
No catch. No purchase necessary.
We just want you to come see us, grab a burger or pulled pork sandwich, say hi, and let us feed you one more time before we park the Burger Bus for a while. 🥰
To every customer, employee, friend, family member, fellow food truck, event organizer, business, school, community, and person who has supported us in any way over these past six years:
Thank you. Truly.
Thank you for trusting us to feed you.
Thank you for supporting our family.
Thank you for giving us six years of memories we’ll never forget.
And thank you for making this little Burger Bus into something bigger than we ever imagined it could be. ❤️🍔🚌
So come hungry on October 27th.
Let’s share one last Burger Bus meal together for a while. 🥰
We hope this isn’t goodbye.
Hopefully, it’s just… see you later. ❤️🍔
