Our version of the classic BLT is made with fresh spinach instead of lettuce (we call it the BST), and let me tell ya… it is OH SO GOOD! 😋

And Ms. Teresa? She sure doesn't believe in skimping on the BACON! 🥓🥓🥓

❤️ 9,000 Followers! From Our Little Cafe in Tower, MN! ❤️

WOW! We are feeling incredibly grateful today!

To think that our little cafe in the small town of Tower, Minnesota, has over 9,000 people following along on our journey is pretty amazing!

The Tower Cafe has been an iconic part of our community since 1950, and our family feels so blessed to be just a small chapter in its long history. ❤️

Our family moved to this wonderful community five years ago, and today, three generations of our family live and work here. Never could we have imagined how many wonderful people we would meet or how much this little cafe would come to mean to us.

For us, it's never been just about serving breakfast or pouring another cup of coffee. It's about the friendships, the stories, the laughter, the familiar faces, and the new ones who walk through our doors.

One thing we've learned along the way is that what makes a community truly special isn't the buildings, the titles, or the positions people hold. It's the people who choose kindness, who lift others up rather than tear them down, and who understand that a little grace and compassion can go a long way. ❤️

We are especially grateful for those who choose to make our little corner of the world a better place through their words, actions, and the way they treat others.

🐾😲 HOLY WILDCAT! Look who's roaming around Soudan, MN! 🐾❤️

Well, you certainly don't see THIS every day! 😍

Around 4:30 this afternoon, our son Rob and his fiancée Delaney had a pretty incredible wildlife encounter near their home in Soudan, MN!

A LYNX!!! 🐾😲

And lucky for all of us, they caught it on VIDEO! 🎥

We always say there's something special about living Up North, but WOW! Between our beautiful lakes, forests, and amazing wildlife, we sure are blessed to call this little corner of Minnesota home! ❤️

🎃👻 Calling All Trick-or-Treaters — Young AND Old! 🍬🧡

We are SO excited to welcome all the little ghosts, goblins, superheroes, princesses, and trick-or-treaters to the Tower Cafe!

🎃 Thursday, October 29th | 3–5 PM

Historically, we've had around 200 kiddos come through, and we absolutely LOVE seeing all the creative costumes, smiling faces, and excitement!

🍬 We'll be handing out some FUN goodies, and we can't wait to see everyone!

And WOW — this year, the kiddos are going to make quite the Halloween haul! 🎃

Our wonderful Tower community has THREE great opportunities for Halloween fun!

🍭 Main Street Trick-or-Treating | 3–5 PM
Our marvelous downtown Tower businesses will once again be welcoming trick-or-treaters with goodies and plenty of Halloween spirit!

🚗 Trunk-or-Treat at Scenic Rivers | 3–5 PM
Another fantastic opportunity for the kids to fill those candy buckets!

👻 Kids' Halloween Party at the Civic Center | 3–7 PM
Located by the trains in town, with even more Halloween fun for the kiddos!

❤️ A Little Update from the Tower Cafe — Closed This Weekend ❤️

We absolutely hate having to close our doors, especially because the Tower Cafe is about so much more than serving great food. It's about community, connection, and being a place where people feel welcome. ❤️

Since a few folks have asked, we wanted to share a little more about why we've had to close, with our team member's permission.

One of our valued team members is dealing with a particularly difficult flare-up of fibromyalgia, a chronic condition that can cause debilitating pain, fatigue, and other symptoms.

We love and value our team, and their health and well-being will always come before keeping our doors open. Sometimes that means making the tough decision to close rather than asking someone to push through when their body needs rest.

And just to reassure everyone, there's nothing contagious going around the cafe! ❤️

As a small, family-run business, we don't have a huge team of backup employees. When life throws us a curveball, sometimes we simply have to roll with it.

So no, we're not lounging on a beach in the Bahamas (although that sounds pretty wonderful right about now! 😂🌴), and we're certainly not being lazy. We're simply doing our best to take care of our people while continuing to build a little place that brings our community together.

Thank you for your patience, kindness, and continued support. We know unexpected closures can be frustrating, and we truly appreciate everyone who understands.

We look forward to welcoming you back for good food, warm smiles, and the community connections that make the Tower Cafe so special.

If you've been debating whether to make a trip Up North, don't let our closed doors stop you!

While quite a few leaves have already fallen, the gorgeous yellows are still absolutely breathtaking around Tower and Lake Vermilion.

As of 1 PM today (Friday, October 23), it's sunny and 70 degrees here in Tower, MN! ☀️🍂

Seriously, how lucky are we to live in such a beautiful place?! If you've been thinking about coming Up North for a little fall getaway, it's absolutely lovely here right now.

🌸 And speaking of beautiful fall colors...

I just had to share a picture of Jen's Mom Marge's gorgeous hydrangeas! Even this late in October, they're still showing off their beautiful shades of pink. ❤️

Between perfect temps, the golden leaves, and this amazing sunshine, there's still so much beauty to enjoy Up North!

Sometimes it's the simple little things that remind us how fortunate we are to live in such a beautiful place, surrounded by such wonderful people.
