I'm starting this with a wellness check on all of our service industry friends, did you survive Cherry Fest? This wasn't our first rodeo, I've been serving festivals goers for about 15 years but a few of those days last week had me down bad. I don't know why Wednesdays were the busiest but I think we handled it with grace. Everyone was so nice and complimentary. I honestly kind of like Cherry Fest. Going to the Midway with our family is one of my favorite days of the year. I get to take pictures, go on a ride or two, and eat a corn dog. My niece wasn't tall enough to go solo on a few of the rides so I volunteered as tribute. Brittney was quite worried and rightfully so, my back is still sore.

An actual big update! Save the date, August 2nd. The legend Jack M. Senff is playing a show at Glendale on a Sunday night. We are so stoked about it. A more formal announcement coming soon.

Also we are switching back to hand cutting all of our lettuce. I used to chop every head of iceberg by hand but we had a supply change issues so we started using bagged lettuce. We don't want to get anyone sick so tomorrow we are going back to the old fashioned way and knife cutting everything. I couldn't stomach the thought of someone getting sick because I didn't feel like doing some extra prep in the morning. But maybe it is really just Taco Bells fault.

That's about it. I'll probably post a few more Cherry Festival pictures as well as some other random shots on our story if anyone cares. It's fine if you don't.

Love you all!

Three Cheers for Three Years! I think everyone has heard the statistic about how many restaurants don't make it 3 years. It feels like a real milestone that we've not only made it this far but that we are actually thriving. Business this week has been unreal. It's amazing what things are like this summer without the roadwork. Brittney and I are so proud of what Glendale has become. Who would have ever imagined, 9 years ago, when I started smashing burgers that it would turn into all this. We are thankful for your continued support both online and in person. We're nothing without you guys.

I don't have much else to talk about this week. I'm pumped that Rare Bird Brewpub is reopening on Thursday. We've been missing that patio quite a bit. I can't wait to chug a birdclaw while listening to the Grateful Dead and eating nachos.

That's its folks. Love you all!

Hey there Glendale Fans! Can you believe your favorite burger shop is turning 3 on Saturday? I hear everyone is going to be setting off fireworks to celebrate our birthday. We will be open our normal hours unless it's crazy slow because everyone is at the beach.

Last week was summerish. Friday was a little slower than we expected but other than that it was business as usual. It will be interesting to see what happens in July. We picked up the new menus I designed today. All the new items are on there as well as Moomers Cow Pies (which will be here Thursday.) Shout out to the Copy Shop for printing and laminating them for us! I think they look very professional.

Thats all I've got for this week. We're at dinner right now and we are going to pick some pictures to post on our story, starting with the new shirt design I never shared.

Love you all. See you tomorrow!

I think it's safe to say summer is here. The town is packed, traffic is back, and reservations are harder to find than a parking spot on Front St. I also think the combination of Juneteenth and Father's Day made this weekend extra busy. We were slammed from Thursday night until we locked the doors on Sunday. I had to go back two years to find a Sunday that was busier than this week was. Luckily everyone that stopped in seemed to be in a great mood and happy to be at Glendale. It's crazy that this is only the beginning of the season.

I've been working on a dill pickle dip for a bit that we'll run as special at some point this week. Once it's fully dialed in we'll be adding it the menu along with The Chimi Chimi More, Snake Bite Fries, and Moomers Ice Cream. We've been running The Chimi as a permanent special for weeks while I slowly redesign our menu. I'm stoked that we'll be serving it year round. We first ran it back in 2024 and it easily our most requested special. It might be a bad idea to add more items to our menu just as it's getting busier but whatever. I think it will be fine. Hopefully.

That's about it for this week. My guy Jack M. Senff has a new album coming out on Friday so go listen to that. He also might play a show at the restaurant in August. Stay tuned for that.

Thanks for reading. Love you all!

Mr. Beefcake's (a.k.a. Beefy a.k.a. Beefy Strings a.k.a. The Iceman a.k.a. Shayla a.k.a Little Man a.k.a. The Sweetest of the Sweet) turns 1 today! He's the cutest dog in the world and the absolute light of our lives. Despite what the first picture looks like, he had a great day. We spoiled the hell out of him. He got a bunch of new toys, a pup cup, and plenty of treats.

Even though it's all about Beefy today I do also have a few restaurant related updates as well. The biggest news is that we are now selling half pints of Moomers Homemade Ice Cream! We finally upgraded the freezer in our kitchen so we moved the old one out behind the register and filled it with ice cream. We started with only 3 flavors but feel free to comment your favorite flavors below and we'll see what we can do. The new freezer showed up on Thursday. It was a nightmare to move. It's very tall and to get into kitchen I had to put the entire weight of it on my back then drag it under the doorframe because the wheel on our dolly popped midway through the move lol. It looks great now and hopefully it won't need to leave that room for a while.

The other update is that we now have kids shirts as well as a new t-shirt design and a crewneck. We are fully stocked for summer which is good because we sold a wild amount of merch this week. It always makes you feel good when someone enjoys themselves enough to want to take a piece of Glendale home with them. Thank you to everyone who rocks any of our burger shop apparel. You all are the best billboards we could ask for!

That's it for this week! Sorry this is a little late, we kept changing which pictures and videos of Beefy to post.

Love you all! See you tomorrow

A couple weeks ago this kid came up to the register and said to Brittney "Do you got anything back there in my size? A 9/10?" Unfortunately we didn't. Brittney felt so bad about it that a few days later we ordered kids shirts and here they are. We're real happy with how they turned out. What kid wouldn't love a tie-dye shirt with the burger boy on it?

Our niece and nephew were nice enough to model them for us in exchange for a shirt and free food. I think it was a fair exchange.

Howdy Hamburger Enthusiasts!

We had ourselves a lovely little week at the shop. The weather was beautiful but things definitely slowed down a bit. Someone told me that last weekend was a big one for graduation parties. I can't confirm that but I can tell you that town did feel a little less congested then usual.

I might just feel that way because we did head out a bit early on Saturday. Our friends were getting hitched and we didn't want to miss it. We closed after lunch and I rushed home to wash the burger smells off of myself before heading out to Beulah for the ceremony. It was a beautiful night. The fact that we can occasionally step away from the grill and be present for those moments is only possible because of all of you. Every time you stop in, bring a friend, or tell someone about our little burger shop, you're helping make that possible. Thank you all.

I've spent the past few days trying to redesign our menu. We have a few new additions coming. Rumor has it we might be adding one of our burger specials to the permanent menu as well as something sweet. I'll post when they are finalized.

Last Wednesday our homie came out with a new song and music video. I was lucky enough to be apart of the video and I even make a little cameo in it. The song is called Never Saw It Coming. I love it. I'll be playing it in the shop regularly. Do me a favor, go to his page and check it out. He's dropping another single every Wednesday until the album comes out on June 26.

That's everything. I have a whole bunch of pictures I need to post you might see a photo dump on our story soon.

Love you all. See you tomorrow.

Howdy, Chimi Champions!

The fan-favorite "Chimi Chimi More" made its triumphant return to the burger shop last week. I meant to post about it on here but it felt like everytime I went to press share the restaurant started filling up again. We got absolutely swamped, sold a bunch of specials, and lived to tell the tale. For those of you that missed out, I'm thinking about running it again this week. I do want everyone to a have a chance to try it because it is my favorite special.

Summer is definitely starting to feel real around Traverse City. The dining room has been busy, the grill has been very busy, and my shoulders have been busy reminding me that I'm not getting any younger.

One quick heads up: we'll be closing early on Saturday so we can attend a very special wedding. We are going to be locking up at 2pm so plan your weekend accordingly. We will be open our normal hours the rest of the week.

Our burger boys hoodies arrived today. They are perfect to keep in your car for nights when the suns starts to set and it's suddenly very cold out. Our classic t-shirts are scheduled to be delivered tomorrow as well. I don't think we'll be running out of those anytime soon. We also have a 3 more items that will be dropping soon.

That's all I've got for this week. See you tomorrow.

Peace and Burger Grease.

Hello again Glendale Stans! What a weekend. We had a packed house almost all three days. Sorry for those who couldn't find a parking spot or a seat but we appreciate everyone who stuck it out and waited. I think the biggest surprise was when we looked and our numbers saw that it was 83% return customers. In the food truck anytime we had a busy day it was all one time customers. They were people who were on vacation that we would never see again. I'm glad they came but it does mean a little more when people start making it a point to come back year after year and include Glendale in their vacation plans.

This week should be pretty normal. I have a hankering for a Sloppy Joe so I might mess around and make up a batch. It sounds like the merch is still a week or so out. I'll post when it's all ready.

I think that's everything. See you all tomorrow.

How's it going Flat Top Fanatics? Are you all ready for the unofficial start to summer this weekend? I think this might be one for the record books. It feels like I can't scroll social media without seeing an article about Traverse City's food scene or a video recommending places to stop when visiting. All that plus no road construction is probably going to add up to a couple crazy months at the Ol' Burger Shop.

We did put in a hefty merch order for the summer. Our classic shirts and burger guy hoodies will be restocked soon. There's also a few new designs that we've been cooking up. They might show up a little later than the rest of our order but it's worth the wait. I'm pretty stoked about them.

I think thats all I've got for this week. I hope you all enjoy your holiday weekend. See you tomorrow.
