Welcome to 7 Monks Taproom in beautiful Traverse City, MI! Why the name, 7 Monks Taproom? Trappist beer are ales brewed by or under control of Trappist monks.

Yes, we said monks. There were a total of 174 Trappist monasteries worldwide (as of April 2011); only seven (six in Belgium and one in the Netherlands) produced Trappist beer and were authorized to label their beers with the Authentic Trappist Product logo. Hence the name during 2011 when we first opened. We love beer. Our beer flows from 46 taps and our ever-changing bottled beer selection. We co

nsistently serve seasonal craft beers from Michigan and around the world. Come try our food...it's delicious and a lot of it is local! Oh, we also have wine, cider, and local mead on tap. Cheers!
