WEEKLY SPECIAL

Here is an ooey-gooey go-to from yesteryear, Miss Carley's patented Rocky Road Work Mocha!

Chocolate, White Chocolate, Toasted Mallow and just a touch of Almond give this motley drink a diverse sundry of satisfying flavors that weave in and out like a tapestry 🤩

This sachrine sweet treat is an uncanny analog for the ice cream it was named after, but remember you can always ask for less sweet (quarter, half, 2/3, etc.) and trust the rich, flavorful, organic espresso we get, custom roasted, from Tyler's own Calidad Coffee Co.

Speaking of the name, for those just tuning in to the "Carley and Nate Comedy Show:" this drink got its name to sort of poke fun at the scary situation from last year when construction next door slowed us down so bad that, with the added blow of the big blue box coffee chain going in up the road, we thought we were done for 😓

One year later and we're still here, thanks to amazing customers and friends who supported us and helped us to rally through*. We still have a lot of digging to get back above ground, but at least the top is in sight 🫶

If you're interested in the saga, dig on down to last year's posts to get a sense of the crazy battles we fought (and continue to fight) to stay in business. None of it would be possible without God's grace and y'all's support and patronage, for which we are immensely grateful. Lord Willing, we'll claw our way back to profitability so we can keep serving y'all our special blend of smiles and High End Cafè (TO GO 🚗💨). Win or lose, though, y'all are part of the story, and boy what a story it has been 😅

FILL A TRAY FRIDAY

FAT Friday was made for weekend Holidays. Buy three, get one free - stock up! (Our drinks taste great from the fridge the next day, just ask our long-time Saturday regulars 😏)

We will be closed tomorrow, July 4th, so our Baristas and we can enjoy the day of celebration. We'll be back on Sunday, though: 10am to 2pm, ready to hear and share stories about holiday shenanigans sure to ensue 😎

WEEKLY SPECIAL

It's not often we post the Lotus Special these days -- let alone post it BEFORE we post our coffee special 🤪

This week is a special one, though, we must say. It is our layered, Liberty lovin' libation: the Fireworks Lotus 🎇

The stars (and stripes) of the show are our Strawberry and Blue Raspberry layers, which give an especially patriotic aura with the white coconut milk and whip topper. All this - as beautiful as it is - isn't quite star-spangled-ready until we've topped it with a special Pop Rocks topper that makes for an aural sensation and a tingly treat 🫨

STEPHENS KIDDOS

We did the math today and realized that this shop has been part of our kids' lives for almost as long as it hasn't 🥲

The twins, for example, were just freshly turned six when we opened, and they're 10.5 this month. Railey (8) was a bouncing four years old, and Hanley (6) was just two 😅

It has been hard work, and they've all been running around, behind the scenes, as we've struggled to pull thru the delays, the cost inflations, the oversaturation of corporate coffee, the construction next door, the debt, the cashflow problems... we don't know if we'll be open from one month to the next let alone be up and running when it comes time for them to step in and earn a paycheck. It's bittersweet to bring them in and see them so eager to help, and, truly, it is what keeps Carley and me going with this whole thing.

I won't lie, its painful to drive by a 7Brew and see ten cars queued up for their sugary slop after I had two visitors in three hours of working late to keep labor cost down - in between my morning job and evening job I have to pay bills at home... but they've got the capital to be everywhere and all the perks that come with their blackrock backing, and all we have is passion and good coffee... but, dangit anyway if Im not going to keep on trying to set up something for my kiddos (while I still have the means and ability) so they can know what it's like to work for a mom and pop shop, and to own and love their jobs, before corporate behemoths take the last remnants of what we Small Businesses have tried to build.

To that end, the girls have asked to accompany Carley and me through our "Summer of Sacrifice" where you'll see us working the shop for our new, regular, later hours (to 4PM) and Sundays while we try to weather another Summer slump. We really don't want to pay $100/month to Meta to get their blue check and the "premium" feature of being seen by new people (used to be free), so please spread the word and COME SEE US!

We'll be here, trying to slay the corporate beasts with our High End Cafe (TO GO!!! 🚗💨)
