3 years ago today Macdonough Supper Club was born! My first dinner was for 12 people, all family. Lily as my sous chef / holding it all together.
Soooooo much has happened since then. MSC’s last dinner in Brooklyn happened over 18 months ago, and since then I’ve been trying to pivot here in Charleston while holding onto this account. I’ve done a lot of private cheffing, worked as a production assistant for , sold holiday tarts, and more. Whatever it takes to avoid working for someone else’s restaurant- I just don’t have it in me anymore.
My partner / fiancé / baby daddy Mark Evans is making moves too. Most importantly, he’s keeping the momentum and creativity going while I’ve been getting through each day being pregnant. He hosted an oyster roast while we made crepes in our yard this past weekend, a little taste of what he’s capable of, and I am very proud and very hopeful about what’s to come.
