Now that we’ve officially opened our expanded space, The Kings Court—with the support of the Town of Vernon and the State of Connecticut—we wanted to share a bit of the story behind it.
Ayman Harby is originally from Alexandria, Egypt, and has spent most of his adult life in Vernon, Connecticut. After first moving to New York in the early 2000s, he eventually made his way to Vernon, where he has built his life and raised his family. With a background in construction and renovation, he later followed his passion for coffee and began envisioning Vernon Coffee Roasters, which was rooted in his early connection to coffee culture in Egypt. In May 2022, our café first opened its doors, and we began sharing little pieces of our day with the Vernon community.
Last year, we took on a new chapter by expanding our café and adding The Kings Court, with the hopes of creating a space for people to gather, enjoy live music and events, or simply sit back and enjoy a fresh cup of coffee and something from our kitchen.
The Kings Court now carries subtle touches of Egypt throughout, offering a warm and welcoming space built for connection, conversation, and community. Our way of expressing gratitude to a community that has played such an important role in our success over the past four years.
We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who came out for the grand opening and to all who have supported us along the way. It’s been a long road with plenty of challenges, and we couldn’t be more thankful for the community around us.
We were also honored to receive recognition from the Connecticut General Assembly and the Town of Vernon, marking this milestone and the journey that led here.
