Today I had the pleasure of meeting John, the new owner of Liberty pizza & steaks…. here in Vero Beach.
People are sometimes surprised when they hear me say this, but I’ve never believed another pizza shop opening is a bad thing. I’ve spent my entire life in this business. I grew up in a pizzeria, and then I took the leap of opening Niki’s Pizza from the ground up. I know firsthand the long days, sleepless nights, sacrifices, and faith it takes to open the doors every morning.
That’s exactly why I believe we should lift each other up.
John and his family recently moved here from Philadelphia and took over what was formerly Giorgio’s. Starting over in a new town isn’t easy, so I wanted to stop in, introduce myself, shake his hand, and let him know he has a fellow business owner around the corner who is rooting for him. I even gave him my phone number this way If he ever needs something and I can help, I’m there and he did the same….That’s what neighbors do, and that’s what our local business community should be about.
Now… let’s talk about the food! 😋
🥗 The antipasto salad was fresh, crisp, and loaded with delicious meats, cheese, and veggies.
🥩 The Philly cheesesteak was absolutely outstanding! Jimbo is definitely the meat expert in our house, and he gave it a 10 out of 10. That’s about as high a compliment as you can get!
🥪 And the toasted mortadella and cheese with mustard on a fresh roll… I absolutely loved it. Simple, flavorful, and done right.
If you haven’t stopped in yet, go give them a try. Supporting local businesses isn’t just about buying a meal. It’s about supporting someone’s family, their employees, their dream, and all of the hard work that happens behind the scenes.
John, I wish you, your family, and your entire staff nothing but success. Welcome to Vero Beach! I’m proud to call you a fellow local business owner, and I hope our community rallies behind you.
