This Thursday night & Friday, keep an eye out for some very unique visitors rolling into the Hi-Way Cafe!

We’re excited to be a checkpoint for the Buffalo Run Adventure Challenge, an incredible event benefiting Camp Able of Buffalo Gap, Texas. Teams will be traveling long distances in creative vehicles, supported by road crews, all while raising money to help children and families through this amazing camp.

This year’s race course takes participants from Buffalo Gap, Texas to Branson, Missouri and back again, with the Hi-Way Cafe serving as one of their stops along the journey.

If you spot a crazy car, unusual truck, or support vehicle pulling into the cafe at all hours of the day and night, take a moment to say hello and wish them luck. This one-of-a-kind event only happens once a year, and we’re honored to be part of something that makes such a meaningful difference for so many kids.

Safe travels to all the teams, and thank you for what you’re doing. Route 66 is ready to welcome you!

Y’ALL!!!

Our little spot in the road was mentioned in the LA Times’ “100 Years of Route 66 Mega Guide!”

In the Oklahoma section, they highlighted some of the state’s most iconic Route 66 destinations, including Mickey Mantle’s home, the Blue Whale, Meadow Gold District, Mother Road Market, Cyrus Avery Centennial Plaza, Round Barn, POPS, Oklahoma Route 66 Museum, Sandhills Curiosity Shop… and the Hi-Way Cafe & Western Motel!

We know there are countless amazing places along Route 66, so to be included in a list like this makes us incredibly proud.

Thank you to everyone who has stopped by, shared a meal (or several), spent the night, posted a photo, told a friend, or helped support our little dream. Let’s continue to put Vinita, OK on the map!

This beautiful Indian motorcycle rolled into the Hi-Way Cafe this week and naturally had to park next to our Big Indian. One of them gets incredible gas mileage and can cruise Route 66 at highway speeds. The other one has been standing tall greeting travelers for years.

We’ll let you decide which is which. 😂

Some heroes wear capes. Others ride Route 66 on two wheels.

Zach was absolutely thrilled to meet “Fish” this week when he rolled into the Hi-Way Cafe during his Legends Never Die tour. Leading nearly 70 motorcycles across the Mother Road, Fish took the time to visit with a little boy who was completely fascinated by his motorcycle and that “fancy YouTube camera.”

What impressed me most wasn’t the bike or the camera—it was the kindness he showed Zach. In a world that often moves too fast, taking a few moments to make a child’s day is something special.

Thank you, Fish, for making a lifelong memory for one little Route 66 fan. Safe travels to you and the entire group as you continue your journey down the Mother Road.
