*THE SHANTY PAVILION AT WADSWORTH INN*

Our family and staff are excited to announce our newest expansion plan addition to our Shanty Towne Culinary Village concept here in Wadsworth, Illinois! This sprawling, custom-designed wooden pavilion will be located at the south end of our property creating an additional unique private event venue, outdoor live music performance entertainment, outdoor dining, and much more, surrounded by nature and privacy.

WADSWORTH INN LAND ENHANCMENTS

•Our current parking lot and concrete sidewalk around the building entrance will be replaced with new blacktop, and beautiful building entrance ground-bricks. Seasonal car curbs will separate the parking lot from the pavilion area. Access to both The Shanty and Wadsworth Inn will continue by a connected staircase allowing convenient parking options for all Shanty, Wadsworth Inn, and Captain Porky’s guests.

•The previous large area septic field at Wadsworth Inn was completely excavated/removed earlier this year connecting all water flow underground north to The Shanty’s water treatment plant. This engineering allowed additional land for us to construct our new pavilion on over 6,000+ square feet of beautiful permeable pavers surrounded by lush forest preserve tree-line views to the east and south, in addition to new landscaping areas around Wadsworth Inn. Our custom old-world black Shanty parking lot light poles will continue down into the Wadsworth Inn property to complete the overall design of the corner.

THE SHANTY PAVILION EVENT VENUE

•In addition to our 15 private event space combination room options inside The Shanty and Wadsworth Inn - our new pavilion will allow plenty of comfortable space under the pavilion for up-to 220 seated guests, dance floor, buffet / plated service options, 60 foot live music stage, projection screen/tv/av, giant ceiling fans, drop down walls, outdoor bar service, and close quick easy access to our newly renovated ground level and second floor Wadsworth Inn restaurant, bar, private event building.

THE SHANTY PAVILION LIVE MUSIC PERFORMANCES, DINNER SHOWS, B**R/WINE/BOURBON DINNERS, SPORTS GAME WATCH PARTIES, OKTOBERFEST CELEBRATION, AND OTHER SHANTY HOSTED COMMUNITY EVENTS

•The land location of our pavilion offers complete privacy from homes and neighbors making it a unique outdoor setting to experience any type of event surrounded by the Lake County Forest Preserve located between Chicago and Milwaukee in Wadsworth, Illinois. In addition to private event bookings, our hospitality team is beyond excited to host a variety of events for our community and surrounding towns.

ADDITIONAL PARKING NOVEMBER THROUGH MARCH

•Every year our guests celebrate a festive holiday season with dining, bar, and private events from the end of November through the end of January in our fully decorated interior Wadsworth Christmas winter wonderland. From November to March all pavilion tables, chairs, dance floor, stage, and bars will be completely removed from the property and placed in storage for the really cold months to allow for additional guest parking under the pavilion on the bricks.

A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO OUR PATRONS

2026 marks 20 years of our family proudly serving our community here in the small country town of Wadsworth, Illinois alongside an incredible growing hospitality team over the years. We are forever grateful for the support and opportunity our patrons have given us. Thank you to our guests for everything!

Received a phone call last week from an executive at Nextdoor.com in San Fransisco, California notifying me that The Shanty in Wadsworth, Illinois has maintained a high volume 94% consistent positive reviews guest rating since 2011 when their company first launched. The reviews were published by neighbors from Chicago to Milwaukee zip codes that dined with us and shared their experiences. The company is flying a small crew out next month to film an interview about this “unique culinary destination located in a small town surrounded by forest preserve land in the middle of nowhere.” Lol, pretty cool. I have to be honest, I’ve never logged into the site or have read a single review, so I requested that they email me a backlog that I began reading through this past week. Makes us happy that guests have found enjoyment in the atmosphere, food, drinks, and service. We all try hard day in and day out to take great care of our patrons. What started as an art project out of college, has turned into something special thanks to our guests and dedicated staff in our four Wadsworth, Illinois establishments. As the years go by, and our ideas/services expand, our family and staff remain beyond grateful for all the support. Thank you!
