🚨 WE NEED CAT LITTER—WE ONLY HAVE FOUR LITTER LOADS LEFT! 🚨
Our community showed up in an incredible way during our recent food drive. Thanks to you, our cats now have enough food to last through the rest of the summer! We were even able to donate food that our foster cats could not eat to Clear Creek Cat Rescue when they were in need. That is what rescue is all about—helping one another whenever we can. ❤️
Now, we desperately need help with something we have not had to ask for in a very long time: cat litter.
The donations received by our nonprofit rescue arm, The Cat Cottage, have gone primarily toward medical care for the kittens and cats who come through our doors. Those medical reserves are now nearly depleted, and we are hesitant to spend the last of those funds on litter when another sick or injured kitten may need emergency care tomorrow.
We have also begun a beautiful partnership with another nonprofit rescue. They are entrusting us with cats and kittens who need loving homes, and we have committed to providing all of their food, litter, housing, and daily care while they are with us. Our goal is to open our doors to any reputable rescue group willing to work with us to find these beautiful animals safe, loving homes as quickly as possible.
Unfortunately, The Cat Cottage has been denied for most of the grants we have applied for since opening. Even the help we were hoping to receive from Home Depot for our upstairs expansion remodel never materialized. That expansion would allow us to welcome more visitors, house more cats, and complete more adoptions—but we continue doing everything we can with the resources we have.
The Alaska Cat Cafe donates 100% of its profits, whenever there are profits, to The Cat Cottage and other rescue organizations needing help caring for cats and kittens. This truly is a labor of love.
Right now, the need is simple and urgent:
