Ok so we are in need of Shocker gear to borrow for Thursday and friday. For the homecoming parade friday. Any Waterville locals have some items we can borrow for a couple days? FYI it's a competition for the businesses. You can have your items back Saturday :)

So our page has been pretty quiet the last couple months. .. sorry about that folks.. been pretty busy, but here we are again. Already pondering November. . As you should remember it's our soup month. Did you enjoy a soup this last year and think it should be part of our month of soups? Remember November is all soups I have never made... so start giving me ideas :)

So today I went back to Waterville and loaded up the filled back packs and collected and counted the donations... Made a trip to Walmart and big lots... Loaded the pick up and went to Pateros. First off let me say... It was heart breaking for me as I got closer... You can still smell the burnt everything. But, I pulled in front of the school because I was insure where the office was as they are still setting up the school. Ended up meeting the principal, superintendent and another gentleman with maintenance. Got to meet a great lady named Donna. The cafe will continue to take in school supplies for Pateros. A HUGE thank you to everyone who has donated. ~ Julie

Had a after hours delivery of 8 backpacks to fill for the Carlton Complex school kids, Thank you Hamiltons for your wonderful donation, We will start filling them soon! And thank you to the Cox's for the first 2 full backpacks for the kids.

Wow... Not sure where my mind has been this morning but woohoo happy anniversary to the cafe! We opened August 1 2007. So we are offically starting our 8th year

So with all these fires around us... I know everyone wants to help. Well with school being right around the corner in 6 weeks.... I'm offering a
$20 gift certificate for every gently used/or new backpack filled with school supplies. I will have supply lists out by Monday. With all the loss let's not have these families worry about school supplies too. Feel free to share this and spread the word. I'm going to collect packs until a week before school starts.
