Join the Annual Wayne County 4-H Watermelon Growing Contest!

It’s time to get the watermelons growing and see who can produce the biggest one in Wayne County. This is a fun family activity for parents, guardians, and grandparents to do together—perfect for making summer memories while learning something new.

Who Can Enter:

Open to ALL Wayne County youth
Kindergarten through 12th grade (public, private, and homeschool)

Contest Rules:

One watermelon per youth
Winner will be determined by the largest watermelon

Important Dates:

Weigh-In Day: Bring your watermelon to the Wayne County Fair at Camden Park on July 28 from 4:00–7:00 PM
Awards Ceremony: July 31 at 6:30 PM, prior to the 4-H Livestock Auction

Don’t miss this fun opportunity to grow, learn, and compete and enjoy the experience of growing something together.
