Just got back from the Warren County Fair's Hog Auction! This is our 7th year open during Fair Week and I think this is the 5th or 6th time we've bought something.

Always love support 4H. Without farmers, there wouldn't be any food for us to sell. Hopefully I'll make it to the chicken auction on Saturday!

Hey Roscoe's fans! As you might be aware, the Warren County Fair is going on right now. This has pretty much been our slowest week of the Summer every year we've been open. Everyone in town is down at the fair enjoying their once per year chance to get a Funnel Cake, a Corndog, or anything else!

Short of a call-off or something else, I'll be the fair on Thursday.......... if you follow the schedule and have been there in years past, you might be able to guess why!

Anyways, in past years we've been on modified hours this week. This year we're just gonna be open normal hours and relax during a slow week after some crazy busy weeks we've had here recently due to the heatwave or anything else.

If you're someone who already went to the fair on Monday or Tuesday and got your fair food fix in, the rest of this week would be the PERFECT chance to get a pizza!

More Crab Rangoon posting. As you might have seen last night, we came up with the idea in July 2020 and started selling it in August 2020. To our best knowledge, not a single pizza shop in the State of Ohio or any other surrounding State was selling a Crab Rangoon Pizza at the time we started selling one.

If anyone has information that contradicts this information, we'd love to see it!

The only place I could find that had a Crab Rangoon Pizza on their menu was a place in Wisconsin. Theirs used real Crab and scallions and more. Ours is VERY different. I was told a place in Alaska had it on their menu in 2019. Not surprising! Alaskans love crab!

Fireside Pizza in Cincinnati (Walnuts Hills) sold a Crab Rangoon Pizza as a one-week offer back in early 2020, before we opened, as part of a collaboration with a restaurant called Oriental Wok and bring it back every year for a week after Lunar New Year! (Theirs is likely much more authentic Crab Rangoon than ours!)

Dozens of pizza shops have started selling Crab Rangoon pizzas since then. Poseidons Pizza Company did one in collaboration with us for a few weeks while we still have their Poseidon's MVPizza on our menu because there's no special ingredients! A few others have said they got the idea from us and I'm sure there is a huge Crab Rangoon pipeline.

We're still trying to do research to determine if anywhere else had it on their menu back in July/August 2020 in Ohio or any surrounding states. If anyone has insight, please let us know!

Ok, after asking our customer who gets credit for the Crab Rangoon Pizza......... The person who had the original idea for as pizza based off Asian Cuisine, specifically Chinese food like a General Tso Chicken Pizza; or the person who came up with the Crab Rangoon by doing all of the independent research and developing the recipe from scratch.

13 people gave their opinion of the percentages.

3 people said that is should that it should be a 0/100 split. 2 people said it should be a 50/50 split. The other agreed it was somewhere in between. We averaged the numbers out and it comes out to 21/79 and will accept that going forward.

We've been having an intense debate and want our customers to settle this for us and it's what percentage of the credit each person gets for inventing the Crab Rangoon.

In the Summer of 2020 we were a brand new pizza shop. We had pizzas that were like Italian pizzas......... but we also had pizzas based off American foods, German foods, Mexican foods, and Cuban foods.

One person looks at this and says "Hey. We should get a pizza based off an Asian food too. Maybe something that you would get get at a Chinese restaurant. Maybe like a General Tso Chicken pizza. Or maybe General Tso sauce."

The other person takes that, determines that General Tso Sauce is not the best idea for a pizza, then has the idea to Crab Rangoon Pizza instead. This person EXTENSIVE research. Completely develops the recipe on Cream Cheese and Sweet Chili from scratch. Then came up with the idea of using Imitation Crab instead of regular Crab. Then discovered issues with burning and the need to add Panko Breadcrumbs. Developing the recipe for the Crab Rangoon. Cream Cheese/Sweet Chili pre-mixed as a base, Imitation Crab, more Sweet Chili, and Panko Breadcrumbs.

At the time, virtually no other pizza place sold a Crab Rangoon Pizza, but we decided to launch it and it became the #2 selling pizza for a couple years, until the Honey Romano Pepperoni overtook it.

I can't find any pizza shops in Ohio that were selling in July/August 2020. There was only one pizza shop in Wisconsin that had it. Theirs had real Crab and Scallions. No Sweet Chili. There was a shop somewhere in Cincinnati that sold a different version of a Crab Rangoon before we opened in 2020 in collaboration with another restaurant........ but it was just a temporary pizza.

To our best knowledge, we were the first pizza shop in Ohio or any surrounding states to put it on the menu full time. If this information is incorrect and you can find verifiable proof that there was a pizza shop selling at that time and still sells it today, we'd LOVE to see it. We've collaborated with a few restaurants on the Crab Rangoon pizza, and a few have admitted they got the idea from us but made the pizza their own.

Anyways, back to the debate. What percentage does each person get for their collaboration on the Crab Rangoon? We want our customers to settle this.

We are officially SOLD OUT of the S'mores Cookie for the year! This pizza will be gone until next Memorial Day. No temporary desserts right now. You can still get the Cinnamon Sticks as always.

In terms of non-desserts.......... we have the Cincinnati Pie as a temporary pizza. Chili, Hotdogs, and Cheddar. This one is still going strong.

We also have the Almost Korean BBQ. This has a hybrid BBQ Sauce as a base (1/2 Korean BBQ 1/2 Sweet Baby Rays), Pizza Cheese, Chicken, and Onions. With Ranch added post-bake.

We're gonna work on bringing in another TEMPORARY dessert soon.

I made a big mistake recently at the store. I have an old friend who is a fan of a particular sports team. I've only seen him a few times in the last 10 years and 2 of the times were at Roscoe's Pizza. We were texting a few weeks prior to this incident and he said he was gonna visit his parents this Summer and make a trip to Roscoe's Pizza while he's here.

Well, I saw someone wearing a hat for the sports team and sunglasses. I pointed at him, looked him dead in the eyes and told him he needs to put his hat in the car or he's not welcome. Now, he left and drove away. For a second I thought it was my friend trying to be funny and would be back. He never came. I got a little nervous thinking I might have got him confused, reached out, and it turns out it was not him.

This is one of the biggest mistakes I've made since Roscoe's Pizza opened. If it was who I thought it was, he obviously would have just laughed knowing it was a joke. If you are this person, please reach out here by telling me the the hat you were wearing. I'm not going to say the sports team because I don't want scammers. This pizza was, at the time, our 101st Specialty Pizza. While it's not technically a "dessert pizza" I'm sure some people have ordered it and eaten it like a dessert!

Introducing our newest TEMPORARY pizza. The Almost-Korean BBQ!!!!

This pizza has a hybrid BBQ base (1/2 Korean BBQ, 1/2 Sweet Baby Rays BBQ which we pre-mix together), Pizza Cheese, Chicken, and Onions. We baked it through the oven then add Ranch post-bake.

Went through about 10 different topping combinations trying to get the perfect Korean BBQ pizza........... didn't really work. Gave up, but the thought of using this "hack." But once we mixed the Korean BBQ with Sweet Baby Rays and added ranch post-bake it turned out great!

The feedback on this was AMAZING. This will only be available for a limited time, so please come and it get it while you can.
