These Concolor Fir trees are looking so amazing! Its exciting that they seem to be thriving since I haven't seen many of them grown on farms around here.

The field was too wet to use the planter today & more storms are moving through the area but we have trees that needed to be planted. We decided to plant more in the east pasture ground. That means augering each hole and hand planting each tree. We managed to get over 400 done in the time we had. Not too bad for 2 old people!

We planted some "row crops" today. Rows & rows of baby trees. 1500 trees in 5 hours.

Our farm is changing. We are gradually transitioning from traditional row crops to alternative agriculture including Christmas trees & crops that will help feed our family & others.

We are excited about all the possibilities that the land holds for us! Its crazy to think that our boys are the 5th generation to live on this farm.

This past Saturday we attended the Missouri Christmas Tree Producers Association meeting in Columbia. We learned a lot about tree pests as well as climate and how it is effected. It was a great learning opportunity. We also found out that our wreath made the Great Lakes Christmas Tree Journal. Prepping for planting season is our next task at hand.

We presented our wreath to the Governor today. It was a great experience and we are so thankful for the Missouri Christmas Tree Association the Missouri Department of Agriculture We can't wait to open our farm to the public and to continue our journey of building a Christmas tree farm from scratch.
