🇺🇸 Thank You, Lima NY VFW Post 26! 🇺🇸

Last week, officers of Regiment 282 had the privilege of presenting a plaque to the Lima VFW in recognition of their generous $3,500 donation that helped make Regiment 282 possible.

Long before Regiment 282 hosted its first event or welcomed its first members, the Lima VFW believed in our mission to reduce isolation, build meaningful connections, and fight veteran su***de through the power of gaming.

Their generosity helped lay the foundation for what Regiment 282 has become today. Every connection made, every event hosted, and every veteran and family member who has found a place to belong is a reminder that investments like theirs truly make a difference.

To the members of the Lima VFW, thank you for believing in this mission from the very beginning. We are grateful for your support and proud to stand alongside you as we continue serving veterans in our community.

Yesterday, Regiment 282 hosted the first-ever miniature painting event at the Lima American Legion, and we couldn't be happier with how it turned out!

Thank you to everyone who joined us. It was great to see veterans, families, and members of our community spending time together, painting miniatures, sharing tips, and enjoying conversation with others who share the same hobby.

A special thank you goes to Boe from Wargames Among the Warplanes, and one of our own Regiment 282 members, for his continued dedication, outreach, and commitment to our mission. Your passion for bringing people together through tabletop gaming helps create the meaningful connections that Regiment 282 is all about.

We'd also like to extend our sincere thanks to Kaitlyn from Just Games Rochester for spending part of a beautiful Saturday with us. We truly appreciate your support and for helping create a welcoming environment where both experienced painters and first-timers could sit down, relax, and enjoy the hobby together.

Regiment 282's mission is to fight veteran su***de by reducing isolation and building meaningful connections. Yesterday's event was a wonderful reminder that those connections can begin with something as simple as sharing a table, a paintbrush, and a conversation.

Thank you to everyone who helped make our first miniature painting event such a success. We're already looking forward to the next one!

Yesterday morning, members of the Lima American Legion were honored to assist the Skahasegao Chapter, National Daughters of the American Revolution during the dedication ceremony recognizing Paul Davidson, the founder of Lima.

It was a privilege to take part in this meaningful event and help honor the history and heritage of our community. Preserving the stories of those who came before us helps ensure future generations understand the foundations on which Lima was built.

We are grateful to the Ska-Hase-Ga-O Chapter for the invitation and for their dedication to preserving our local history. Thank you for allowing us to be part of such a special occasion.

This past Thursday evening, the Lima American Legion Auxiliary Unit 282 hosted a beautiful memorial service honoring the life and legacy of Virginia Robbins.

Virginia dedicated 52 years as a member of the Lima American Legion Auxiliary and gave an extraordinary 11,500 hours of volunteer service to our local VA. Through decades of unwavering dedication, she touched countless lives and exemplified what it means to serve others with compassion, kindness, and selflessness. Her legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.

The evening brought together members of the American Legion Family, friends, and distinguished guests to reflect on Virginia's remarkable life through heartfelt stories, memories, and tributes. It was a fitting celebration of a woman whose impact on our community cannot be measured.

A special thank you to Auxiliary President Deborah DeCook and the outstanding members of Lima American Legion Auxiliary Unit 282 for the countless hours of planning, preparation, and hard work that made this beautiful memorial service possible. From the first idea to the final details, your dedication, teamwork, and commitment ensured Virginia was honored with the dignity, respect, and love she so greatly deserved.

To everyone who attended, spoke, and helped honor Virginia's memory, thank you for being part of such a meaningful evening.

🇺🇸🏃‍♂️ The Lima Bean 5K is almost here, and we're excited to once again support an event that has meant so much to our community!

Lima American Legion Post 282's Regiment 282 is proud to be one of this year's beneficiaries of the Lima Crossroads Festival - July 30-Aug 2. The Lima Crossroads Council played a key role in helping make Regiment 282 possible, and we're grateful for the opportunity to give back by supporting this incredible community event.

For the past few years, members of Regiment 282 have participated in the Lima Bean 5K. Over the past two years, that tradition has included completing the course in combat boots while carrying the American flag. 🇺🇸 The flag is carried as a symbol of hope, service, and our commitment to the veterans who may be fighting battles that aren't always visible. It's a reminder that our mission is to build connections, reduce isolation, and let every veteran know there's a community ready to stand with them.

This year, we'd love to see even more veterans, Legion Family members, friends, and community supporters join us by walking or running alongside the Regiment 282 team!

Whether you're chasing a personal best or simply enjoying a fun morning with family and friends, every registration helps support organizations that are making a positive impact right here in our community.

🇺🇸❤️ What an Incredible Fourth of July! ❤️🇺🇸

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this year's Fourth of July Parade such a success!

We are incredibly grateful for the honor of leading the parade. It was a privilege to represent our community, our veterans, and the values that bring us together on Independence Day.

Thank you to every volunteer who gave their time, everyone who helped prepare the float, those who rode along, marched the route, handed out candy, and cheered from the sidelines. It truly was a team effort, and we couldn't have done it without each and every one of you.

Most importantly, thank you to our community for coming out to celebrate. Seeing so many smiling faces reminds us why events like these matter, they bring neighbors together, honor those who served, and celebrate the freedoms we all cherish.

From all of us at the Lima American Legion Post 282, thank you for making this Independence Day one to remember. We look forward to seeing you again at the next community event!
