Nestled in Vermont's majestic Green Mountains close to Mount Snow, the historic 1846 Inn & Tavern was originally built as a stage coach stop & community centerpoint. Nestled within the serene Deerfield Valley of Vermont's Green Mountain National Forest (and only two miles from the base of Mount Snow), our historic home built during the days of Adams and Jefferson continues an important tradition b

egun over 150 years ago. Originally built as an inn, stage coach stop and tavern, the West Dover Inn has been lovingly restored and now provides 12 quiet, luxury accommodations as well as modern and memorable dining in the 1846 Tavern and Restaurant. Close to everything, yet far from anything, the inn is an ideal destination for a perfect New England vacation surrounded by Vermont's best skiing, snowboarding, golfing, hiking, kayaking, horseback riding and shopping.

Naturally, most of us at the 1846 Inn and Tavern are lifelong Celtics fans and that will never change but we also know that there are a couple of Knicks fans among us (who weren't even born the last time the Knicks won a championship) and some Knicks fans who may unknowingly slink and slither through our premises. So, Phil has set up this hoop and will give away prizes on game nights to those who can channel their inner Frazier, Bradley, Monroe, DeBusschere, or Reed. We will be open Wednesday night before Game 1 from 4-8.

Last weekend's Oyster Shucking Class was a tremendous success even though you failed to show. We enjoyed our first 6 year old Master Shucker alongside some of our (not so) senior class of shucking veterans. Our next Class shall be on July 5th at 2:30. Tickets are now available on our Takeout webpage. No excuses this time.

Ok, you asked us to get a bushel just for you, so we did. Now, please go to our Takeout Page and buy as many tickets for our Oyster Shucking Class on May 24 that it will take to open and slurp all of these down (with glasses of fine wine, of course).

Our expert oyster lovers are well aware of our long-standing partnership with the Gaffney family from Robinhood Cove, Maine, who grow the delicious Eros oysters—arguably the finest in the region. This week, our team had the pleasure of spending time with Mark, Mike, and Gloria, and it was an absolute blast! We're excited to go back! As always, we have plenty of Eros oysters available, so stop by and indulge as much as you like!

The surest sign of Spring in Vermont is.... nope, not mud caked into your rugs and carpets.... it's boiling sap and making luscious maple syrup at Dutton's in Newfane. Kathy and Phil recently visited there and came back with the inside scoop.
