I have been thinking about this day for a long time and here it is as I sit inside my store that I love and have given 110% of myself to. I am looking at the front door I’m about to walk out of for the very last time as a proud owner of Reale’s Grocery. My grandfather is to my left watching me leave. He is proud of how far I have taken HIS store. If a cardboard cutout could cry, then this one definitely would. Happy tears, not sad. My wife Karen and I are crying real tears.

On behalf of our three generations of the Reale’s family, thank you for your trust and support. It's truly been an honor in celebrating over a century and a decade with customers like you.

After 47 years, I have officially retired today. Your unwavering patronage has been a profound honor, and I am eternally grateful for the relationships I’ve built. I am deeply appreciative for the generations of customers who have stood by me and shared heartfelt and fond memories throughout the years. Strolling down memory lane with monkeys, parakeets and canaries, a mynah bird saying “Hello Reale’s” every time the phone rang, roasted peanuts, antique Coca-Cola vending machine, comic books, penny candy and of course grinders.

Reale’s Grocery is under new ownership and business will continue as usual.
