❤️‍🩹 Andy update:
He was FINALLY moved to a Rehabilitation Place around 9pm last night. Here he will have the chance to do a lot more than he was able to do at the hospital along with Physical Therapy helping him learn how to stand and eventually walk again. It's honestly a very weird feeling for both of us to not be at UMMC anymore, but we're both very excited that this means he is one step closer to home!
He still has a VERY long road ahead though and will be here for at least a month if not more, but it's a step in the right direction.

Thank you everyone for all the continued support, prayers, kind messages, and donations to help our family during this time. It has been 34 days since Andy fell, and we aren't sure how many more days there are in this journey home!!

❤️‍🩹 Andy Update:
It's been 28 days at University of Maryland Medical Center - this being the first Sunday since we've been here that he hasn't been in a surgery. Thankfully.
He did have an issue with his wound vac on Friday so that had to be replaced sooner than expected, but they were able to do so without taking him to the OR.
He has need quite a bit of blood since being here and was given more again overnight, but hopefully his levels will start to get better as everything heals.
His stump is doing okay as of right now, and the wound vac is working wonders on his bottom wound, so hopefully we can move on to the next step of rehab very soon!
Andy himself is struggling right now with just being ready to go home, missing the kids, the dog, and even the cat.. but sadly there is still a long road ahead for him before that can happen.

As always thank you to everyone for the donations, prayers, love being sent our way, daily check ins, and more. The support system is still so amazing and we appreciate it ALL so much!!

First I wanna say thank you to everyone who has supported us so far, and everyone who is running fundraisers for us - it truly means so much.
Being the creative person I am - I had to find something to do while feeling helpless here in the hospital with Andy so I went ahead and designed some “Andy’s Support Squad” shirts for Andy and everything he’s going through.

Andy Update:
We are still in the hospital, and he has another surgery tomorrow to continue helping the wound on his bottom heal up correctly.
He’s still very much in pain and now stressing himself out about what’s coming next for life for us.
There’s been a lot of ups and downs these last few days and sometimes it just seems like there’s no light at the end of this long dark tunnel, but I know there is and we will get there.

Thank you again to everyone who has continued to send nice messages, donations, and just kept us in your prayers.

We still have a VERY long road ahead of us as we adjust to this new “normal”
Thankfully, Andy is doing really well though and finally starting to come out of the hospital delirium he was experiencing and being more himself!
He’s going to be here for a bit still and then will be transferred to a rehab facility at some point, still unsure of when/if he will be able to completely return home.

Please keep coming with the thoughts, prayers, love etc and thank you again to everyone who has been doing that since day one!!

❤️‍🩹 Andy Update today - He is still waiting for his surgery to amputate his left leg. Since we are at shock trauma sometimes surgeries like Andy’s get bumped when massive traumas come in. So we understand it could be a bit before we know the exact time he will going under again.
Please continue to say prayers as this surgery is going to be a pretty big one for him, and it being his 3rd surgery in a week is a lot on his body too.
The doctors are hopeful that once this surgery is done though the rest of his body should be able to start healing and building his strength back up.
I won’t be posting anymore updates until surgery is complete.

Andy Update: because I know soo many people are praying and thinking about him right now..
This is not the update I wanted to give - but it looks like the damage to Andy’s leg is irreversible and he will be losing part of his leg sometime tomorrow - he’s in good spirits and knows that he has a long fight ahead of him- but he’s also very scared as I think we all are.
It’s going to be a very long bumpy road, but I know he’s strong and we can get through this.
Truly still overwhelmed by all the support from everyone. Thank you to everyone who has reached out and is sending love and prayers and to everyone helping us when needed with whatever is needed. ❤️

I hate sharing this - and this still doesn’t even feel real- but please if you can - donate to just help us get through these next few months while we learn the new normal around here.

❤️‍🩹Small Andy Update:
So today he’s been doing a lot of sleeping, and screaming in pain. He’s very exhausted and is getting himself prepared to undergo another surgery tomorrow some time.. and then we’ll know a little more about what’s next.

If everyone could please continue to pray that everything goes well and he stays in mostly good spirits through out it all!!
I truly am sooo overwhelmed by all the support our friends, family, and even customers have shown. It means soo much to me and to Andy too!! ❤️‍🩹

Anyone who knows Andy or myself knows that asking for help is not something we do often… we actually both struggle a lot with admitting we’re struggling.
But we are struggling, and right now more than ever… so please if you’re able to donate it would mean the world to us as it will help ease Andy’s mind a little bit knowing he doesn’t have to stress about caring for his family.. and can focus on the long healing journey he has ahead of him. Good morning BBQ friends!
Just a little update for our customers - Andy experienced an accident over the weekend while out enjoying time with family and friends and ended up needing an emergency surgery to fix his leg and will be out of commission for quite some time. We will try to keep everyone posted as best as possible- but Andy is the top priority right now.
