🥬 Food Safety Notice & Our Promise to You 🥬
At The Homestead Restaurant, your trust and safety are always our top priorities. We believe in being fully transparent with our community, which is why we want to share a quick update regarding a current food industry notice.
The FDA and CDC are currently investigating a multi-state Cyclosporiasis outbreak linked specifically to shredded iceberg lettuce sourced from Mexico (currently affecting certain fast-food locations in nearby states like Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and West Virginia).
We want to reassure you that The Homestead Restaurant is NOT affected, and we are taking every proactive step to ensure it stays that way:
Safe Sourcing: Our primary distributor, Gordon Food Service, has confirmed that the overwhelming majority of their iceberg lettuce is sourced domestically right here in the USA.
Zero Recalls: There are currently no product recalls or market withdrawals affecting our inventory, nor has our distributor been contacted by any regulatory agencies regarding this issue.
Proactive Monitoring: Out of an abundance of caution, we are working closely with our supplier to double-check and verify the exact origin of all our produce. Their Food Safety Quality Assurance team is monitoring the situation 24/7.
We are keeping a close eye on this investigation as it unfolds so that you can continue to dine with us with total peace of mind. Thank you for being a part of The Homestead family—we look forward to serving you a fresh, safe, and delicious meal soon! 🍽️❤️
