It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Christo's To Go will not be reopening In Whitman. As this chapter in the Christo's story ends, there are so many things to be grateful for: Don, the nicest landlord ever; Pinches and Pounds, the best neighbors in the world; the most loyal and supportive customers anyone could ask for; suppliers like Best Foods and Johnny's Produce who have supported us through thick and thin; and the most capable, dedicated, smartest, loyal, coworkers imaginable.
We will be forever grateful for being welcomed into the Whitman community with open arms; and it has been a privilege to be part of so many people's lives through good times and bad.
To say our staff is a family is an understatement. We have grown up together; learned together; been there for each other through births, marriages, deaths - all the life changes that a family goes through - and all while proudly serving the communities that have been part of our extended family for the past 60 years.

The next chapter in the Christo's story has not been written yet - we may be gone for the moment, but hopefully not forgotten. And who knows? You may also see your Christo's favorites in your local supermarket before you know it!

With all my love and gratitude,
Gigi

Hello folks! Nothing ever goes as quickly as you would like, but we are working hard on a plan to reopen! The support and love of our coworkers, and the bond we have with our community of friends and customers is what keeps us going.
As they say - stay tuned!

Hello, folks! Checking in to say we are still working on a plan to reopen. Keep your fingers crossed, and we will keep you updated.

And also, while we are very grateful for suggestions of fundraising on our behalf, it's only right that we resolve this issue privately.
Thanks again, and we hope to have great news for you soon!

Hello, folks.
Words cannot express how grateful I am for the outpouring of support, love, and encouragement from the community.

If I may ask for one thing, though- while the suggestions of starting a GoFundMe or similar campaign to help us out are incredibly thoughtful, our current problems are my responsibility to iron out, and mine alone.
It will probably take a week or so to find out exactly what direction we are going in, but I promise to keep you updated with any developments.

With all my thanks,
Gigi

Hello, folks. As everyone is already aware, the restaurant is currently closed due to tax problems that I am trying to rectify. Sometimes, you just can't get things done quickly enough for the government, and they have a job to do. I can't possibly express how grateful I am for all the support and encouragement from our kind and loyal friends and customers.
It helps more than you know.

Sometimes a situation is pretty simple: sometimes an owner isn't willing to charge what they need to charge in order to survive. Sometimes the prices of products go up so frequently that it is difficult to keep up. Sometimes an owner makes mistakes, and they find themselves behind the eight ball.

But, to clarify for some of you who have a less than understanding view of our situation: no, I have not been accused of tax evasion. There's a big difference between falling behind on your obligations, and intentionally avoiding them.

To those who think a business in trouble and 12 hardworking people potentially being out of work is funny - I don't really know what to say.

We've been a part of life on the South Shore for 60 years, and we hope to be able to continue, because I work with the best group of people on earth - and they, more than anyone, deserve a quick resolution to this situation, whatever that may be.

Talk to you soon,
Gigi Tsaganis Johnson

Hello, folks. We apologize for any inconvenience, but we will be closed today. In the near future, you may see or hear disstressing things about the restaurant, but we are doing our best to clear up any confusion and be up and running again as soon as possible. We greatly appreciate your patience and support.
