What a surprise!!!! This was a lot more than a coffee shop! Although we had an incredible cold Vietnamese coffee that was super strong and super good with sweetened condensed milk in it! Not sure why the east side one went out of business, but this is a gem! I’m sure those students at Northwest high behind this strip mall are loving it! You can get ice cream cones and the most incredible gigantic like mozzarella sticks on a stick that look like a corn dog they’re so big! They come in all kinds of flavors like crunchy cornflakes, etc. Val couldn’t even eat all of hers! Prices weren’t bad and the donuts have a chewy flavor to them because they’re all gluten-free with a rice base! It’s a Korean donut shop-who would’ve ever thought?? Very refreshing and different! Oh, and they have that Boboa stuff if you like chewy balls in your drinks! Ha ha! My husband loves cheese sticks-wait till he has one these- he’s gonna go crazy! Val got some to take home and look at that adorable to go box they gave her! They also gave us one just to try! Our water glasses they gave us were so cute, too… Facebook wouldn’t let me load the video, but I took a video of this cool machine where they stick the water glass in and it crimps on the top to the glass and then you just poke your straw through the top of the glass. It was so cool! You gotta try this place!

One of our first tours was to Sojourners that was in the strip mall at Maple & Ridge Road (close to Forever Yours Jewelry!) and we liked it because it had a real connection with veterans and a meeting for them-it was a big part of their mission. It's been transformed now to Nameless Coffee Co with a new owner who sources and roasts his own beans. The logo was a little confusing, but we're guessing that it's a Guatemalan farmer on the left and the right side is the owner and his ball cap? The mission now is about giving a better wage to farmers in Guatemala who produce the coffee beans, and building these sustainable relationships. The meeting room (as you can see in the QR code picture) can be reserved by anyone now for no charge. So if you have a small gathering of eight people or less, you could check with them ahead of time and have a nice place for a little meeting. The vibe was OK-music would've been a nice addition. The merchandise for sale was really pricey, but the extensive menu was pretty surprising with all the food items (and a bit overwhelming with such small font-had to take a picture & blow it up to read it! Ha!) and everything was really reasonably priced. Apparently they do catering, too. We just had our normal lattes which were goid, and a pecan coffee cake & a chocolate chip scone that were both...eh. Nothing to moan about! Prices were good and hours are 7-4 Mon-Fri and 8-4 Sat.

Confession: We did Tour #16 and it was so bad we just couldn't post that negative of a review against a local business 🙂 So....on to the next one!

This was a very busy coffee shop that's been there a long time close to the intersection of Central and Woodlawn. It has a very busy drive up. Val ordered a VSCO Latte-Almond, Lavender, Vanilla, ALMOND milk, Cold Foam, but got a Strawberry Burst Granada??? That was weird! I ordered a latte extra hot, no foam with two pumps of their marshmallow syrup. When I got it, it had foam, it wasn't extra hot and I couldn't taste any marshmallow? So rather than just putting in a couple more squirts and a little more coffee they took it back and I had to wait for a looooong time to get one that didn't have foam & was extra hot, but still couldn't taste the marshmallow! Argh! We were not impressed with the somewhat pricey coffee there that day, but the little gal running the register was just awesome!

It had a great vibe with happy and helpful people who seemed to be having a great time -wonderful place to get together and meet someone, but it has a hustle and bustle feel to it.

The bathroom was cool. The last pictures you'll see had a picture on the wall that talked about their own book club, which we thought was a really cool idea!

We had to get a picture of us and in our new "Brewed & Booked" aprons that I actually happened to find at the thrift store in Yoder! I always wanted to know what those Amish women got rid of, and I finally got to go and bought each of us an apron for $1 a piece!

We joined the Wichita Brew Tour, and realized that we only needed 10 stamps to be able to go claim one of 2000 T-shirts they give out when you get your card stamped 10 times! So we stopped by Visit Wichita downtown afterwards, which was really a cool little place, and got our free Brew Tour T-shirts and bought a couple other things. We'll take a picture of us in our new orange shirts next time!

We're BAAAAACK!!!! Oh, what a fun coffee shop we found, too! If you want wonderful coffee with incredible pastries to go with it for a cheap price, keep reading!

Paranormal Cafe sounds like a creepy place, so it wasn't high on our priority list, but it was delightful! We will definitely be going back and encourage you to support this small business owner!!!

The owner had a partner and they started out as a food truck, but then her partner had a stroke so she came to a brick and mortar about two years ago. She used to be a paraeducator in Valley Center! Her mother helps her and makes incredible coffeecakes and scones (they have burritos too). We enjoyed the best coconut cream coffee cake that was a total moaning experience! Ha! The lady beside us was having peanut butter chocolate chip that looked decadent!

Check out the prices of the coffee on the menu boards! The prices even include tax! You can choose from 12 or 16 ounce and get any size regular coffee you want for only $2! Of course we had to have one of those, too, when we left! Unreal! We both enjoyed a classic latte ($3) that she custom sweetened for us, but their best seller is the Mothman Mocha.

The owner explained that she gets her own coffee beans and roast them and normally uses 100% Colombian cut with dark French roast. They were so much fun to talk to and such a welcoming and fun experience with the door open and the breeze coming in and we were lucky enough to snag two out of only eight chairs in the small little enclave that is Paranormal Café.

You can see the south side of the arena out the north windows as it sits in the northwest corner of the Fireworx Wichita building-we were confused at first because we saw no signage, but found out their sign blew down a few weeks earlier when Wichita had the bad winds!

It's a Tuesday through Saturday affair so you'll be disappointed if you show up or on a Sunday or Monday!
Tues/Thurs/Sat 8:00-1:00
Wed/Fri 8-Noon

People were streaming in steadily and most taking their coffees to go, which makes great sense if you're doing a coffee run for an office!

Such a funky, eclectic vibe with a fun little shopping area with paranormal themed funny items. We'll be going back again for sure and I'm going to do a little Christmas shopping while I'm there, as well. You've got to stop into this place-a hidden GEM with a name that is misleading!

College Hill needed a coffee shop and Coffee Daze filled that need a little over two years ago. After we parked on a glacier in front of the building on iconic Douglas Street, we were a little surprised to walk in and see a Christmas tree still, they had an array of baked goods that they say they make all themselves we ordered the avocado toast, and thought it was delightful! We were super excited for the coffee we ordered (one of their holiday specials they were still offering) called "Grandma's Purse" with butterscotch sauce, macadamia nut syrup and espresso, but were rather disappointed that we could only smell those flavors but could not taste them and had to add a couple of sweeteners to boot.

The vibe was a little off because the seating is an eclectic mix of hard chairs and only one semi padded booth area that we sat in. Maybe they don't want people to stay very long so they put in uncomfortable chairs?

Anyway, if you're in the College Hill area, and want a fun place to stop in and hang, this is your place.

Wow! Our favorite so far and it's only been open about a month! Their slogan is "Where Coffee Becomes Connection" and it's a GEM of a place-especially on Mondays, Wednesdays, and sometimes Saturdays when they have a woman who sings incredible background music who is absolutely AWESOME! What a wonderful touch to a coffee shop and such beautiful design work on the inside with the fake olive trees for privacy between tables and you can get drinks and crêpes, etc. It's directly across the street from Cargill on Douglas, hard to see because there's no major signage on the front (we came in the back entrance )but there is a wooden build-out patio in front of it -it's pretty much almost right at the corner of Washington and Douglas by the north east corner. The owner actually works at Cargill… what a brilliant man to create a fabulous coffee shop where he and his friends can literally walk across the street! We learned you have to order at the register and not sit at the bar like we did because they thought we were waiting on someone so no one waited on us, but after that, the customer service was excellent! Coffee, good priced and absolutely wonderful-Val had a macchiato and I had a latte and they were so yummy we wanted more! They have a coffee roaster on display which eventually they'll start roasting on Sundays and selling their own coffee beans. I can't wait to go in there and sit by the fireplace on a cold winter day and listen to music and maybe have one of their specialty coffee cocktails! Best coffee shop in Wichita so far on the tour! Open every day 7 AM to 8:30 PM except Sundays they're closed.

After our workout swimming at the Y we decided we deserved donuts so we did a coffee shop/donut place! My son said Crispy Donuts made the best donuts in Wichita and I agree! They are Vietnamese and they sure know how to make donuts! If you haven't tried them, it is a must! It's an old taco Tico building on the east side of the road and they've painted it bright yellow so you can't miss it! They serve coffee and cappuccino and we both had a large coffee for $1.59 with free refills! They also have a drive-through!

We decided to stop at Vita Bella that used to be the old Dairy Queen on West Central and then Mexican restaurants after that and it's been open about a year (they said people often get it confused with Bella Vita, the restaurant on West Street and call for reservations!)

We learned this is a chain based out of the Philippines. The name translates to “life is beautiful” and this is the second franchise location in the U.S. with the first one located in Sulphur Springs, TX.

The coffee shop specializes in coffee, boba and offered a few packaged treats from Japan and China-no thank you. Ironically, there was Christian music playing with the words on the TV screen, as well. Guess they have karaoke there some nights and often have food trucks come during lunch.

We both had a salted caramel latte and the coffee was excellent. Really reasonably priced at a little over $4 for a large. It was decorated really cute inside and we enjoyed the comfy chairs and couch, but it was strange because while we were there for over an hour, there was no one else there.

Had never tried Boba before so got a sample of these black tapioca balls but it is beyond me why people want big balls in their tea or coffee that are annoyingly chewy. They come in different flavors and sizes I guess and must be pretty popular because another place opened just down the road at the former kookaburra coffee place called Leaftea House that serves Boba. If we come back, it might be just for a drive-through window coffee!
