Sunday, January 26, the Moonlight Diner in Williamstown will be donating 50% of sales and 100% of tips to Madi Tarsa (daughter of Dave and Vicky Tarsa) and her fiance Jake Beckwith.

(Update: Doctor just confirmed that Madi's tumor is either a Grade 3 or 4 malignant tumor. They are waiting on molecular genetics for final grade. The doctor confirmed that with this grade of malignant tumor Madi will have to undergo radiation treatments. She is being referred to a radiation oncologist today and is also meeting with Dana Farber Cancer Institute team on Monday. Madi is hoping that the two teams will consult together so that she doesn't have to go back and they can begin treatments. Madi and Jake will not be able to attend the fundraiser on Sunday due to large crowd health concerns. Dave and Vicky and their families will be attending with masks.)

Madi, a former waitress who worked with us for over five years who we consider to be like family is currently going through a hard time. Madi recently listed and sold her home and took a new job. She was to begin December 30 at Baystate Medical in the CCU. Madi would be working to attain her goal of becoming a CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist). Unfortunately, on Christmas Eve morning, Madi suffered a gran mal seizure. She was taken to the hospital where doctors would discover a large brain tumor that required immediate surgery for removal. Madi had the surgery and is now recovering. She and her family are waiting on the results of a pathology test to determine the success of the operation.

Because Madi was switching to a new job she lost her health insurance on December 31. Madi cannot work or drive for at least 6 months. She has unplanned medical bills. They sold their house before the seizure and are now searching for an apartment that will likely require first and last month's rent and a security deposit due before signing. They will be relying on just Jake's income to pay bills for the foreseeable future.
