Two American service members dead and a third missing as Iran strikes take US death toll to 16

Two US servicemembers have been killed in Jordan after their military base was struck by an Iranian attack, US Central Command announced.

The attack, which came overnight Friday, saw Iran fire ballistic missiles and drones at a US military base, with at least one servicemember also missing in action.

Four other American soldiers were medically evacuated to Jordanian hospitals in the attack, who have since been discharged, CENTCOM said in an X post.

The attack on a base in Jordan came amid a fresh blitz across the Middle East after the ceasefire between the US and Iran disintegrated. More than 430 Americans have been wounded in the war.

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Miami Valley has been enveloped in smoky, hazy conditions as wildfire smoke drifts down from Canada, and the fires are impacting the area’s most vulnerable.

As air quality declines across the country, living and working, especially in dangerous conditions, is becoming more perilous.

👉“I was coming back from Eaton, and I couldn’t believe how smoky it was,” said Jamie Gray, a maintenance supervisor for RoadDog Gas Stations. “I mean, the visibility was less than a mile in. I’ve never seen it this bad.”
