Help shape Windsor Heights' next public art mural!

The City is seeking community feedback on the finalist designs for our upcoming public art mural. Stop by Nights in the Heights in the Heights on Tuesday, July 21, starting at 7 PM, where members of the Public Art Committee will have the finalist artwork on display and will be collecting your feedback.

To respect the artists and the selection process, the artwork will not be posted online, so this is your opportunity to see the designs in person and share your thoughts.

This public art project is funded by Bravo Greater Des Moines. We hope to see you there!

🫘🫛 New Product Alert!! 🫘🫛 If you've been on the TikTok, you've probably seen the viral dense bean salads (DBS). Since it's abbreviation sounds like it could be the next new boy band, it's only fitting that you're gonna want to become their biggest fan!

While we love to be on the cutting edge of trends, we've launched these for several important reasons:

1.) Groceries are expensive. Beans make your dollars stretch.
2.) In a time where green salads are in the news for not good reasons, we wanted to have an alternative healthy choice (NOTE: we've had NO issues and do not source our lettuce from Taylor farms)

I FINALLY made it to Scoops by Beth to celebrate National Ice Cream Day🍦and had maybe the best scoop of my life- Key Lime Pie 🍋‍🟩I’m plotting how to get back each day before it’s gone!! Extra bonus- got to chat with the boss lady herself!! She’d love to see you- head on over!! And I absolutely love that she had solutions for folks whose tummies may not love ice cream- I was just telling a friend the other week that all ice cream shops should do this!!

While in Highland Park, I stopped by another awesome local biz- THE COLLECTIVE to pick up my order. If finding great eco products is your thing, this is your shop!

Summer is hard for small businesses- show up for your favorites and try a new one. You won’t be disappointed spending your money to support your neighbors and the local economy!!

One of our favorite parts of the new place- our old outdoor sign mounted on the wall of the Grab & Go area. You can see it perfectly through the window when you’re on 66th street. Like it was meant to be there. 🤩

The folks at Iowa Sign Company took great care taking it down, cleaning it up, and installing it inside. And they made us new outdoor signs, too!

Another favorite part of the space- the gorgeous tile which has been there since the 1950s. We knew we were meant to be here- green is one of our brand colors!

Met some new people and got an update from Mayor Bob on all the exciting things happening in Urbandale at the State of the City lunch.

A new police department building, public safety collaborations, and renovations to the downtown were the highlights (as well as a lively discussion about motor/e-bikes on trails!).

🫙🏅: ”I’m not too big but not too small. I come across clearly and have am wide open to new adventures. I am good at holding things in- feel free to tell me all your secrets!”

🫙👎 : “I’m pretty BIG deal. Some say I’m tall and skinny, others say I’m tiny…depends on the day. I’m rough around the edges- sometimes sticky and even stinky. Not huge on baths. I don’t like to let a lot in. Not the prettiest of the bunch, either.
