So much love and thanks to everyone who shared a part in our little adventure these past years. We are truly blessed to have had this in our lives.

WINDSOR — The dining room at Bistro Midva was full of warm light and lively conversation on a September weeknight. At the small tile-topped bar, Kurt Dermody, a West Windsor resident and Ascutney Outdoors board member, and Ryan Palmer, the Windsor...

Hi Folks

This is a hard one to write. As of October 1st Midva as we have come to know it will be closed. This is a decision we have known that we would have to make due to differences between the property owner and ourselves. We have done our best to maintain our little oasis on Main Street. Unfortunately it’s been a constant uphill battle with the culture surrounding the building and the state of the building itself. The tipping point came earlier in the summer when we approached the owner of the building and asked that windows and doors be updated to a standard more in line with our northern New England area so that we could be open 12 months a year. Unfortunately, it was his opinion that the cost was too much for him to invest in his building. Even while doing good business in warm weather months it is not enough while having to stop a business completely for two months during the coldest times of the year and we simply could not afford to do that again this season.
There are too many people for us to thank for supporting us, and supporting us frequently and consistently while watching our dream come to life and thrive these last 2 years. We have so much gratitude to our staff that have helped us every step of the way to get where we are. We have fallen in love with being here in our picturesque little town and would not have wanted to follow our dream anywhere else. We don’t consider this a failure or a tragedy, we see this closing as the end of a really great chapter in our lives. That being said, we hope to be on to our next Windsor dream soon and in a better space where we can spread our wings and fly. Until then, I guess we are stopping for a moment, back where we started, absolutely humbled by an entire community of truly wonderful people who have supported us in our dream come true.

Sincerely, and with love and appreciation

Chad and Arlanda

On September 30th from 5:30 to 9:00, come to Midva to hear some great tunes from Michael McNaughton and to help send Roger Barraby off to get the gold in Mexico!

Midva is hosting a wine “relay” to help with the final push to raise funds to send Roger off to the 2023 11th edition of the Gay Games!

The wine relay will consist of 5 tables each with a uncommon wine that everyone should know and each wine will be paired with a small bite to go with it. We will also host a silent auction of some really nice and really fun wines!

Tickets for the event will be $50 at the door and will go toward Roger getting to Guadalajara.

Come on down and support one of Windsors own!!

HaliWHAT?!

Just this amazing halibut that we get from Vermont Slopeside Seafood that we serve with a sunchoke-corn chowder, some crispy fingerling potatoes and some smoky bacon lardons from Green Mountain Smokehouse.

Something spicy and delicious for the first official weekend of summer! Come down tonight and have one of these cocktails with mezcal, muddled orange, fig sour, and chipotle simple syrup! Yum! Bonus points to the person who comes up with the best name for the drink!
