Have you ever been to a cemetery and seen change left on the headstone? This isn’t (usually) someone who just decided to empty their pockets. This is a tradition marking stones of military members.

If you were in boot camp with the deceased, you leave a nickel. If you served with them, you leave a dime. If you’re a stranger wanting to show respect, you leave a penny. If you were with them when they died, you leave a quarter.

This Memorial Day I’d like to post a challenge. Between pools, camping, and barbecue stop out to a cemetery. Walk the stones for a while, and if you happen across a fallen hero, leave a penny.

Happy Memorial Day to the heroes who gave their lives. Your watch is over. Rest in peace.

Come out this Saturday & support your local businesses! You might find me getting a tattoo after I get done serving up caffeine for the day 👀

As we get closer to our walk-in day this Saturday (see previous post for more info!), we'd like to give a few options of things to do while you wait!

B's Coffee Shop is just next door; in addition to coffee and mixed coffee drinks, they also have lotus, dirty sodas, HUGE cinnamon rolls, and carry Shut Your Piehole Cheesecakes (if you haven't tried this yet, you are missing out)! B's Coffee Shop is veteran-owned, and our newest neighbor...show them some love while you wait for us to open!

El Mariachi is the Mexican restaurant just down the street from us, and if it were any more authentic, you'd have to pay with pesos. Besides, who doesn't love tacos?!?
