With the 250th anniversary of the United States approaching, we wanted to share our personal experiences of this beautiful country..

Both owners, Dan (born and bred in Gloucester, United Kingdom) and Lilly (born and bred in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico) are not originally from mainland U.S, or indeed the state of Florida.

Before Savage Tacos, times were extremely tough as we fought hard to keep our heads above water after losing our corporate jobs. Lilly worked an hourly job at Publix, and Dan worked an hourly job at AutoZone and did DoorDash in the evenings to scrape together whatever money we could to survive.

In the first pictures here you’ll see our owners hustling at these jobs. In the following pictures you’ll see us gambling with the only asset we owned (1 vehicle) by selling it to purchase an empty trailer in which we planned to build into a food truck.

But we put our faith in God, in each other, in this State and in this Country.

From there, you’ll see the true beauty of this nation and the opportunities that it holds.

When you think you’re down and out, when you’re on the ropes fighting for survival, only here in the United States would it be possible to rise from the ashes the way that we did. Only here in the United States will you find the everyday people that’ll get behind you and tell you - “Yes. Yes - it CAN be done”

Thanks to this incredible country, and the amazing people who inhabit it, we have risen from those ashes and built our OWN business - brick by brick.

No matter who you are, no matter where you come from, here in the United States we are ALL brothers and sisters who believe in dreams, success and freedom!
