Good morning Detroit Street Food Family,
As many of you know, our stand has been closed since late October 2024, and I want to take a moment to share the journey that has led to that difficult decision.
It has always been a dream of mine to showcase my love for good food and how it connects us as people. In April 2022, God gave me the vision called Detroit Street Food. A year later, Rossano Case came into my life and sowed his blood, sweat, and tears to help that dream become a reality. We accomplished so much together, and I am eternally grateful to have gained a brother for life. By July, God had opened doors and sent favor (shoutout to Britney Walker for taking a chance on us) that allowed us to fully open our very first establishment inside of Penn Market. York City and the surrounding areas have truly shown us so much love!
As it stands, life has a way of throwing challenges our way, and this past year has certainly been a transformative one for me. I am usually very good at rolling with the punches and taking on new challenges. However, in the fall, after my business partner had to relocate rather suddenly, I faced an unexpected injury that made it clear I needed to take some time to prioritize my health well-being, and family. With a heavy heart, I decided to temporarily shut down operations in late October to recalibrate and focus on these new priorities.
Leaving Penn Market is not an easy choice. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities, connections, and love you all showed us there. Together, we fed many happy mouths, and those memories will always hold a special place in my heart. I am particularly grateful for how gracious and accommodating Britney has been as a market manager through all of these transitions.
Enough with the heavy stuff…. Looking forward 😌
The past few months of rest have brought much clarity, new partnerships, new doors, and new opportunities that we are ready to fully embrace. Now, I am preparing to relaunch Detroit Street Food in a way that aligns with my original vision and lifestyle demands (family & ministry balance). This new chapter is all about growth and connection, and I need your support to make it happen:
Here’s how you can show your support:
1. **Like our page** to stay updated on our upcoming relaunch (it’s coming soon!). If you love our food, please leave a review to help spread the word!
2. **Be on the lookout** for exciting new items that will be available for pickup, delivery, and shipping! 🚚📫😉
3. **Support our upcoming hosted events!** (We’re planning a special singles event for Valentine’s Day that you won’t want to miss! 🤫💕❤️)
4. **Help us reach our goal!** The York, Harrisburg, and Lancaster areas are rapidly growing, and we aim to be able to meet the demand for diverse food and cultural entertainment/experiences. For the first phase of this plan, an opportunity has presented itself, and we are currently working on building a commercial commissary kitchen right here in York PA.
If you would simply like to give to support our relaunch, monetary gifts can be sent via cash app:// $DetroitStreetFood or you can inbox for other ways to donate.
5. If you're interested in a business partnership or investment, please feel free to reach out! You can message me directly or send inquiries to [email protected].
Thank you for being a part of our journey. Your support means the world to us, and we can’t wait to share our new adventures with you!
With love and gratitude,
Stephanie M. Woodson
