Families of Ursuline High School,

There are two summer programs of interest for your households; (1) Sun Bucks, which provides monetary assistance for financially eligible households, and (2) Sun Meals, which provides free meals for ALL children ages 1 through 18. A summary of the programs is listed below, and more information is available at https://linktr.ee/ursuline.irish.cafe.

SUN BUCKS Information:

Students who currently attend Ursuline High School and receive free or reduced-price meal benefits have been automatically enrolled in the SUN Bucks | Summer EBT program, which began in 2024 and continues for 2026. This program provides grocery benefits to these households when schools are closed for the summer. Summer EBT benefits will either be loaded to a household’s Ohio Direction Card, or a benefit card will be sent in the mail to each eligible child.

Families can use the money to buy food during the summer at grocery stores, farmers markets, and other authorized retailers. Families will receive a one-time benefit of $120 for each eligible child and participation will not affect children or families' immigration status.

If your child doesn't receive free/reduced school meals, but you believe that your child might be eligible, you should apply for SUN Bucks at https://sebt.ohio.gov/application.

SUN MEALS Information:

The Summer Food Service Program meals have a new name, now called SUN Meals! All children ages 1 through 18, regardless of meal status, are eligible to receive free meals during the summer months at participating program sites. Individuals ages 19 through 21 who have been identified as having mental or physical disabilities and are following Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) through their current enrollment in educational programs also are eligible for free summer meals.

Please note, Ursuline High School will not be serving meals this summer, but all children ages 1 through 18 can visit any open site found on the location finder map, which goes live in late May as summer meal programs begin. Check the linked page weekly for updates to the map and find summer meals throughout the summer.
