Update on Uncle Eddie
10/30/26 Update- Mr. Eddie was able to have to have his MRI this morning which we were very thankful for. There is no damage to the brain stem, which was a significant worry. However, if he is able to come off the sedation, he will have vision and some motor deficits, which will not be known until the sedation is gone, which could be days because of his heart and kidney function. He also has been seizure free, which we are thankful for, but as the sedation comes off, if the seizures return, this will be a significant set back. As Amanda said earlier, the roller coaster continues. While this day has not necessarily been the best news, it has definitely not the worst we were fearing. To give you an idea of the timeline, the intensivist managing his care today told Matthew that he is off for nine days and he fully expects for his dad to be here when he comes back. Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers, especially Matthew’s mom who I feel like is so exhausted, but continues to be a constant presence at his side.
