Our team went out for an Earth Day cleanup today… and found some things.

Not normal things.
Not expected things.
Definitely not things you want to think too hard about.

So we’re doing the only reasonable thing:

A REMINDER!!!

"To the countless talented and dedicated Zuni fe**sh carvers, past and present, who have worked diligently and creatively throughout the twentieth century to generate interesting and evocative designs [...]
They are forever changing, innovating and releasing the spirit for all of us".

This is dedicated to Zuñi fe**sh carvers by its author, the splendid 2-volume book finally published by Dr Harold Finkelstein following some 20 years of work. Harold is well known in the artist community in Zuni and is grateful for the help he received in gathering information, testimonies and photos for his 2-volume book.
He therefore wants for each artist mentioned in his work, to receive, FREE OF CHARGE, a copy of "Releasing the Spirit - The Art of Zuñi Fe**sh Carving".
Details about the distribution are available at Halona Plaza's office. Harold has provided a list of beneficiaries and is requiring that they present themselves personally and with appropriate ID.

Humane Society of Tulsa (aka "The Vets") are in Zuni for a few days to provide free health care for animals in the community. EVEN stray ones!

Gingerbread time of the year - amongst other Yule Time treats and delights!
A special feature this Christmas season... A gingerbread version of our Inn at Halona in Zuni. Built and decorated by Janet Lipham, a volunteer member of staff at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center in Albuquerque (IPCC).
She is again participating in the Gingerbread House Contest presented by the IPCC every Christmas season (see information below). Her beautiful creation is just spellbinding: many details are included: furniture inside, decor on the walls, cats outside.

NOW, here is where YOU Dear FB Friends, come in: all gingerbread entries are currently on display at the IPCC and will be judged between now and January 4th (winners/several classes will be announced January 6th). Big thing is that POPULAR VOTE will be taken into consideration, so we NEED for friendly folks who will happen to be near IPCC to go and vote for Janet's entry. It is actually possible for individuals to enter multiple votes: one per day even!
We are counting on anyone/everyone's support; as to the Gingerbread Inn at Halona, its home will be on Zuni after the contest is over!!
