Damn. Reading Mareva’s article in print for the first time today, and even though we knew it was coming out, those words from our friend Jason hit us hard. The article is announcing Hunky Dory’s closure (spoiler alert 💔), and also speaks to the Wednesday night Old Time jams that were as much a part of Hunky as the food we served. Jason’s quote may be about the jam, but when I read it I can only think of it perfectly describing everything we ever wanted to accomplish at Hunky Dory: a space where people show up, feel invited, and breathe a little of themselves into this living entity.
