Congratulations to Maine’s newest Registered Whitewater Guides! After a demanding week and a half spent learning the ropes of the Penobscot River, this crew put in the work, pushed themselves every day, and earned it. Cheers to many great days on the river!

Your upcoming weekend plans have been made! Join us on the Penobscot River this Saturday, May 30th for our Double Trouble raft trip!🌊

This trip offers two runs through Ripogenus Gorge and the Cribworks, which means twice the action, twice the adrenaline, and twice the time spent on one of the best stretches of whitewater east of the Mississippi. Paddle through Class IV/V rapids alongside our experienced river guides, then kick back for a hearty BBQ lunch before heading back out for round two.

The Summit Project has officially arrived at NEOC for an incredible weekend of remembrance, reflection, and community. Tomorrow, hikers will make their way up The Owl in Baxter State Park, in honor of Maine’s fallen soldiers, carrying memorial stones and the stories of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Founded in Maine in 2013, The Summit Project is a living memorial dedicated to honoring post-9/11 fallen service members from Maine through fellowship, education, and physical challenge. Participants carry tribute stones chosen by surviving families, ensuring these heroes and their stories are never forgotten.

We’re deeply honored to host this meaningful gathering here in the Katahdin Region.

All smiles after some successful runs through Final Chute at the Cribworks! 🌊

It’s 82° in the Katahdin Region today, and summer is officially ripping the bandaid off. We’re training up the next round of whitewater raft guides as we speak, and the season is already shaping up to be a great one.

Did you know that moose can close their nostrils underwater while feeding? They spend a surprising amount of time in ponds and marshes eating aquatic plants, which help keep them cool during Maine’s warmer months.

Scenic Wildlife Tours have officially kicked off for the season, and with Baxter State Park reopening for the summer, our adventures have expanded into some of our guests’ favorite wildlife viewing locations once again.

Keep your eyes peeled for moose, eagles, deer, and more as we explore the wild landscapes surrounding Katahdin.
