THANK YOU DeliCilantro and Joyful Juices Thanks for reminding us what is important and why we created FARMaceuticals.
FARMaceuticals was born on the day we moved onto our property and I planted the first tree. My dream was for my property to become self-sufficient and we could live the relaxed, nature focused life that we always dreamed about. I have been growing mushrooms (edible and medicinal)and gardening my heart out. We have been eating a lot out of the garden and when life looks bleak I remember that what you sow is what you reap. Now that the garden is established, time to welcome back my garden helpers. CHICKENS..........

I love history and enjoy frequenting businesses that are proud of their own roots. 5 mins from my family's smallholding in Windmeul, Paarl is Villamar which we often visit as they are a coffee roastery (as a family, we love coffee!!!) with a lovely bistro-style restaurant and deli nestled amongst the olive groves. Many a birthday lunch or catch-up morning has been spent at their restaurant or buying their deli products to enjoy back on the farm.

A year or so ago they revamped the restaurant and placed their family history on display.

What? The daughter married a Groenewald, just like me! The connection seemed fortuitous but I did not think about it again until I was driving past Villamar to the production FARM to buy my black figs for the farm box. My contact on the farm was Jacques Groenewald and we giggled, as I had placed my order as Liz Groenewald before knowing that the person I would be collecting from would also be a Groenewald.

They are lovely, down-to-earth people who are just as passionate as we are about good food and service, and after chatting with their Sales and Marketing Manager, I can confirm that we will be collaborating more and more with them in the future.

If you are in the Paarl area and looking for a casual meal and friendly Boland service, please pop in and visit them..... you will become as much of a fan as we are.

It is the month of LOVE and what better way to show love than by supporting LOCAL small businesses. There are so many who are passionate about their products, dedicated to their ex*****on but lacking the capital to reach everyone's attention. We will showcase as many as we can this month, so feel free to hit share when we post and give a little love.

We will be curating 2 FARMaceutical boxes this month, supporting local and showcasing some of our favourite small businesses.

The Valentine box will be all about LUXURY and the FOODS of LOVE, available for delivery on Thursday and Friday this week.

The Small Batch box will be delivered on the 25th and 26th of February and highlight excellence in small batch production.

FARMaceutical boxes can be gifted and customized to suit the person. Thanks family for supporting my business by gifting a farm box to one of our sisters. (one of the sisters with a green thumb) As she has her own granadilla vine, hanging with fruit, we swopped out the granadillas for cheese and included a herb cup instead of the plant.
