I have some important news to share with you. Sadly, the owners of the property have decided not to renew our lease. This means we will be shutting down. We invite you to join us for a last hoorah this weekend, the 27th – 29th September.
I want to take this moment to express my gratitude to everyone that I’ve encountered, on good or bad terms, in my last six years as owner of The Vern. The lessons I have learnt have been invaluable and life changing. To my customers, thank you for your unwavering support and unmatched loyalty. To all the people I’ve worked with behind the bar, on the stage and in the kitchen, I have had the most amazing journey and learning experience with you all. Thank you for teaching me, bearing with me and supporting me. To my friends and family, your encouragement and belief in me have been invaluable.
Running this business has been an incredible journey filled with highs and lows. We’ve had our fair share of challenges, but we’ve also had many moments of joy and success.
As we prepare to close our doors, I look back on the past six years and feel proud knowing I did the best I could with what I had.
This news was not met without a fight, but it was a fight we couldn’t win. It’s time for a new chapter, and I am excited about the future. I hope you will continue to support me in my next endeavors.
