Do you agree with the old saying: "Trou is nie perdekoop nie"? 🐴💍
If you didn’t grow up hearing this Afrikaans idiom, it literally translates to "marriage is not like buying a horse."
Traditionally, our parents and grandparents used it as a serious piece of advice meaning: marriage is a massive, lifelong commitment, so don’t rush into it lightly!
But as a wedding photographer, I like to look at it a bit differently.
Yes, getting married is a beautiful covenant that must be honoured.
But planning your wedding day? That definitely shouldn't feel like a stressful, difficult business transaction!
Your wedding should be down-to-earth, fun, and uniquely you.
When you book with me, my goal is to make sure you enjoy every single second of your day while I capture your authentic story in the background.
🌿For the married couples out there, what is the best (or funniest) piece of marriage advice you received before the big day? Let me know in the comments! 👇
