As we settle into our groove, we look forward to our weekends down at the farm as we get to cook up a storm as well as serve our freshest roasts.
As promised, we will have another power batch of donuts on offer, as well as traditional churros baked in house by our main man Guy!

Our savoury selection is slowly expanding too, so don't sleep on it. Make sure to pop in for a brekkie or brunch coffee and snack this weekend!

On the roast this week is an African rich blend with a creamy palate.
Not too chocolatey and not too fruity. Something in the middle that is easy on the tongue. No sharp edges, just a smooth and faintly sweet espresso - very much enjoyed with milk, but not limited to only espresso based coffees.

We have always thought of our space as a factory shop, where one can purchase our goods at 'factory' prices.
As we are not a cafe by trade, but a coffee roastery and brand, we want the people who visit us to feel our welcoming vibe we work to create for everyone.

Forever in awe of these little beans.

To make up a 60kg bag, which is generally the weight of a sack of green beans, takes a hell of a lot of beans. The immense collective human effort it takes to grow, pick and process coffee beans makes them not only a commodity, but a ritualistic practice in its own right.
Much like our morning coffee rituals, these little guys go through their own routine of processing before they come to our roasting machines.

From this stage, another practice unfolds and that is the blending, roasting and tasting. This is often what most people think about coffee and its process before sipping a flat white, but it's also the crucial steps before all of this that really makes our daily caffeine intake so special.

So next time you make your morning cuppa, just remember the many hands it has passed through to get to you. Something we have everyday, that is so very special.

Something very sweet and exciting on the horizon!

Us and our friends are joining forces to bring the cult classics of donuts in Cape Town to the deep south.
We are sure many of you have been keeping tabs on these guys as they have become one of Cape Town's sought after donut bakeries.

As of this weekend, Saturday to be exact, you can find a selection of our favourites as well as some of their more decadent choices available at our roastery.

We will keep you updated on flavours and how quick they will sell out.

Last week he had the privilege of hosting and his students for a barista training course.
Teaching our youth how great coffee is and to make great coffee is probably our favourite part of what we do.
Sharing knowledge and laughs with aspiring people makes for a hopefully future and we are stoked to play a small roll in the support of our future.

This week we have an African and South American rich blend.
Bringing together an earthy undertone with deeper fruity notes. Our goal, as always, is to bring together a flavour and experience that can be enjoyed by all. Nothing too wild or too bold. Something that can be enjoyed with or without milk too.

As crops change, as well as farmers, getting the exact same bean is virtually impossible. What our job is, is to find the best beans available that match our flavour intentions. These beans may change, but our overall flavour remains within our 'umbrella' of flavour if you will.

Some moody scenes around our zone lately.

As winter settles in, we seem to appreciate a good cup of coffee just that much more.
Big shout out to all our new and old faces who hang out with us in our new space and support our craft.

Tomorrow evening, June 4th, will be celebrating one year of First Thursdays down at the farm, and we'll be cranking our roaster for anyone interested in checking the process.
