🌿One of the Western Cape’s most exclusive seasonal ingredients. Waterblommetjies are edible aquatic flowers indigenous to this region and found nowhere else in the world — making every bowl of waterblommetjie bredie a uniquely South African culinary tradition.
🌿 This iconic dish is believed to have roots in early Cape cuisine and is traditionally slow-cooked to develop rich, comforting flavour.
🌿 Waterblommetjies are seasonal — making this a dish worth enjoying while it’s here.
