I can’t breath
Am writing this poem in pain
Why taking someone's life like a strangled chicken
It is too plain to complain
My heart is depressed and broken
My hand shivers out pain and grief
My eyes sheds river of sorrow out of pity
Am sick of this, I need a relief
It was more like a dream but it was reality
My mind finds agony under his knee
And my pen keep saying "I can't breathe please"
Due to the little space to be free
It's better you could have charged him a penalty fee to get release
My pen kept writing, writing and fighting
Fighting till it broke
Till it broke because of your smiting
He was not a cow to hold that like a yoke
Melancholia nothing was left of it soul
Please I can't breathe and death was the result
You took his life and you lose your job also
Which one is better? Think like an adult
Am optimistic he had a family to take care
He had a dream
But you gave a suddenly death which he didn't prepare
It was more like a nightmare my heart scream
Instead of fighting the global pandemic disease corana virus
We are now battling to shed blood
Racism is were we have put our focus
Rain of bitterness whats to occupy the world to get flood
You lied black and white are just colours
But the current scenario is racism
Conflict and confusion are bitter flavours
What is your evangelism?
You don't win souls but you take them to hell
Stop racism and come back to sense
I can't breathe is what I can tell
Stop strangling black people like if you were given a license
Just because we are black
And you are white
Black is loathsome and unlucky
While white skin is pure and light
Let the truth be told
We can't shut our mouth to speak
We are too courageous and bold
You can't let us down just watching you at the top of a peak
The man tried by all means to survive
He lifted up his voice
Still you ignored that he is alive
Heart beat stopped, soul leaves and death was your choice
Death was pronounced
People started to protest
News was announced..
