We are on the hunt for a new MANAGER!
Unfortunately our current manager is moving overseas unexpectedly. This role is excellent for someone looking to take the next step in their café career while still being a hands on member of the team.
Café Manager
Employment Type: Full Time
Hours per week: Approximately 38 hours/week, as per flexible roster
Remuneration: Restaurant Award, Lvl 5 Food and Beverage Supervisor, approx. $60,000 p.a
Effective date: Immediate start
Skills and Experience to perform Key Responsibilities
• Management experience, especially in the food and beverage industry of at least 3 years.
• Experience in the food and beverage industry (breakfast and lunch preferred) of at least 5 years.
• Extensive skills in consistent coffee and beverage making, including latte art, at high volume.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the cafe/brunch scene and a genuine love for good food, coffee and service.
• A confident and professional attitude, demonstrating initiative to seek feedback and further develop the business.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for customer service and marketing the collective business.
• Enthusiastic and friendly personality with an eager to learn attitude for all aspects of the collective business.
• Ability to select, train and supervise staff to perform successfully in the business.
• Experience rostering and ensuring the efficient management of staff hours, according to the Award requirements.
• Demonstrated ability in purchasing and pricing of goods according to budget.
• Experienced in appropriate financial operations, cash flow and preparation of takings for banking and financial reporting.
• Working knowledge of IT functions eg POS, financials, ordering, rostering, reporting and general administration.
• Demonstrated experience managing a café business according to 5 Star Health Standards.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Follow procedures to maintain the café to a high standard of product quality.
• Make and deliver food and beverage in line with Musette professional standards.
• Ensuring the appearance and cleanliness of the facilities is in alignment with the 5 Star Health Standards.
• Driving the replenishment and rotation of stock within budget
• Cleaning and maintenance of cafe equipment, keeping logs of such.
• Seasonal menu development, including costings and planning for catering opportunities and events, with the Head Chef.
• Answer customer questions regarding food and coffee.
• Separate waste and follow waste management procedures.
• Professional use of Point-of-Sale systems and ordering apps.
• Marketing the café using Social Media Channels and graphically designed marketing materials.
• General staff management including training, rosters and supervision.
