Honoured to be among the finalists of the 2026 Sunshine Coast Business Awards.

What a wonderful night connecting with inspiring business owners who make a real difference in our community.

Sharing stories, exchanging ideas, and knowing we’re part of something so meaningful makes this recognition even more special.

Truly grateful to be part of it! ❤️
A special thank you to Sunshine Coast Business Awards for 30 years of bringing local businesses together, celebrating achievements, and recognising the incredible impact they make on our community!

2026 Sunshine Coast Business Awards – Hospitality Finalist

ONE OF SIX.

We’re incredibly proud to be named a 2026 Sunshine Coast Business Awards Hospitality Finalist.

One of just six hospitality finalists across the Sunshine Coast.

A huge credit to our team and everything they put into Backstreet every single day.

Pretty special.

FEATURED IN THE SUNDAY MAIL & COURIER MAIL
“FIVE TO TRY”

Backstreet Café was featured in The Sunday Mail & Courier Mail’s “Five to Try”, celebrating standout French toast across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.

We’re incredibly happy to once again receive recognition beyond our local community, and to see our little café in Mooloolaba selected as one of just five across such a wide part of Queensland is a pretty special milestone for us.

Our Banana Bread French Toast got its little moment in the spotlight, and seeing Backstreet in the paper like this feels pretty surreal.

We’ve always tried to make breakfast in Mooloolaba a little different: homemade food, great coffee, colourful plates and plenty of personality.

Thank you to Grace Koo and the Courier Mail team for visiting and including us.

And most importantly, thank you to our team, our locals and everyone who continues to support our little Backstreet.

Love the classics, but sometimes you want something a little different. 👀

We like to keep the favourites, while adding a few plates that are a little more unexpected.

Big flavours, colourful dishes and plenty of options you probably won’t find at every café on the corner. 🌮🍳🥞☕️

If you’re looking for something a little more exciting for breakfast or lunch this weekend, come find us in Mooloolaba.

Good coffee. Classic favourites. Something different too.

AND WE HAVE A WINNER! 🏆🎉

A huge congratulations to Dave king and Jordi King , the winner of our $400+ Father’s Day Hamper!

We actually drew two names before our final winner, but unfortunately they hadn’t completed all of the entry requirements listed in the giveaway.

We wanted to keep the draw fair for everyone who followed the rules, but we also wanted to show a little Backstreet love. 🤍

So, although they weren’t eligible for the main prize, we’re giving both of them a $50 Backstreet Café voucher anyway. DM us for collection Nina Peruzzi and Lesley N Gordie

Thank you so much to everyone who entered, tagged their dads and got involved. We loved seeing the response.

And once again, congratulations ! Enjoy your hamper!

Happy Father’s Day from the Backstreet team. ❤️

Meet Cissa, a seriously talented local artist and tattooist, and the creative behind some of the hand-painted tables at Backstreet.

Every piece carries her style, personality and hours of work.. created by hand and made to connect her artistic identity with the street soul of Backstreet.

At Backstreet, we believe in craft, handmade, homemade and local. Supporting talented local artists, makers and small businesses isn’t just something we talk about.. it’s part of who we are.

Local supporting local. Art supporting community. That’s the culture. 🤘🏽

This recognitions isn’t just for Backstreet Café.

It belongs to every member of our team who gives their best every single day.

Today, exactly one year later, we’re incredibly honoured to be named a 2026 Local Business Awards Finalist.

Alongside the other recognitions we’ve been fortunate to receive this year, this means so much to us. It reassures us that our passion for specialty coffee, homemade breakfast, genuine hospitality and creating memorable experiences is truly making a difference.

This recognition belongs to every regular who stops by for their morning coffee, every family who chooses us for breakfast, every visitor who recommends us to friends, and everyone who has taken the time to leave a review or simply say, “We’ll be back.”

From the bottom of our hearts… thank you for believing in us. This recognition belongs to all of you. ❤️
