MainStreet 1908

MainStreet 1908 European-style coffee house, tea room, and old-fashioned ice cream parlour with a modern twist located in the historic heart of Camrose, Alberta

From our humble beginnings as a travelling pop-up ice cream shop, travelling around to local fairs and trade shows across Alberta for over a decade, it was always our intention to settle down in our hometown and open an idyllic little ice cream parlour. And, given our climate, it only seemed logical to incorporate coffee and tea, so we set to work finding the best of the best; the crème de la crèm

e, as they say. The beautiful historic building on Main Street has been so many things to so many people over the past century (Canadian Club, courthouse, Treasury Branch, library, etc.) we simply had to honour its significance to the community by creating a warm and inviting gathering place that all ages could enjoy. We humbly acknowledge that this land was traditionally known as ᐊᓯᓂᐢᑲᐤ ᓰᐲᓯᐢ (asiniskaw sipisis - Stoney Creek) in Treaty 6 territory. This territory provided a travelling route and home to the Maskwacis Nêhiyawak, Niitsitapi, Nakoda, and Tsuut'ina Nations, the Métis, and other Indigenous peoples.

We have received reports of a bear sighting in the Victoria Park area. While bear sightings are uncommon in Camrose, residents are encouraged to stay alert and take precautions when using parks, trails, and natural areas:
• Keep dogs on leash and under control
• Make noise while walking or biking on trails
• Stay alert and watch for signs of wildlife activity
• Never approach, feed, or attempt to photograph wildlife up close
• Properly secure garbage, compost, bird seed, and pet food

If you encounter a black bear:
• Stay calm and do not run
• Slowly back away while facing the bear
• Speak calmly and firmly so the bear recognizes you are human
• Give the bear plenty of space and an escape route
• Move to a safe area indoors or inside a vehicle if possible

Learn more about BearSmart safety tips at www.alberta.ca/alberta-bearsmart

We will continue to monitor the situation and will share updates if needed.

Enjoy a stroll through downtown and see if you can find all 12 Days of Christmas!🎅🏻🎶❤️

On the tenth day of Christmas… my true love sent me ten lords-a-leaping.

These lively lords spring into action in today’s Love Local window art, created by Art by Keltie.

The display is at Pedersens Florists and proudly sponsored by McCarroll Consulting, a strategy, culture, and leadership firm passionate about community and collaboration.

Take a stroll and enjoy the festive energy of Day 10 as part of the 12 Days of Christmas tour.
