We’re here to share that Field Guide’s last day of service will be Wednesday, April 29.
Ceilidh opened Field Guide at 24 with her then business partner, Dan 13 years ago. There was no clear plan at the time; no defined timeline, just the desire to build something.
In 2020, Katie joined the business. We were already best friends and becoming partners in this project has been one of the greatest joys of this experience.
A decision like this is never made lightly. This restaurant is deeply intertwined with both of our identities and it’s emotional to come to the end of this chapter, but we’re looking forward to a new era for ourselves.
None of this would have been possible without the people who have been part of Field Guide over the years. The many talented individuals who helped shape this place, our current team who are navigating this final stretch with us, and of course our guests. We have so much respect and gratitude for all of you.
We also want to acknowledge how challenging this industry continues to be and encourage everyone to support the incredible independent restaurants and hospitality talent in Halifax however you can.
If Field Guide has ever meant something to you or holds a special memory, we’d love to see you before we close. Come raise a glass, share a snack, and spend a little time with us.
Our final services will run from today, Thursday, April 23 through Sunday, as well as Tuesday, April 28 and Wednesday, April 29. We’ll be open from 5–11pm each night. Reservations are encouraged, walk-ins welcomed as space allows.
